Zach Huffins is a 2017 OF/SS with a 6-3 182 lb. frame from West Lafayette, IN who attends West Lafayette Jr/Sr. Large frame with long limbs and an athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Ran a 6.45 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with deliberate footwork while ranging for and closing to the baseball. Compact, clean exchanges with a long arm circle back at separation. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot producing solid carry to the bag topping at 86 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an even, slightly open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Creates some coil with top half at load prior to launching on a loose, extended path to contact. Barrel comes through the zone on a line drive plane through extension. Swung with intent with the present bat speed and strength to drive the ball through the gaps. Flashed the ability to turn the barrel to contact and work to pull side with authority, homered to deep left in game play. Named to the 2017 National Pre-Draft Top Prospect List.
