Jacob Whorrall is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Oak Ridge HS. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, wiry build and room to fill out with additional strength throughout frame. Ran a 7.53 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, small rock step leading into leg lift, stays compact through the back and lands slightly closed at foot landing which helps create deception. Full arm circle through the back leading to low three-quarters release, stays tall on backside and incorporates lower half well. Arm slot creates nice running life out of hand with slight downhill plane, topped at 84 mph and works down. Good rhythm and tempo, more velocity on the way with additional strength. Shortens on curveball, sweeping 10-4 shape at 66 mph with short depth. Ball comes out well from hand in outfield, has arm strength, fields the ball out front with short steps to ball. Righthanded hitter, starts with an open stance and movement to hands. Loose hand set with bat speed through the zone, line drive plane and swings hard, front side occasionally opens front early, looks to lift at contact. Very good student.
