Samuel Pulido is a 2017 MIF/RHP with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Perris, CA who attends Rancho Verde HS. Medium frame with a lean, atheltic build. Body projects for additional strength. Right handed hitter with a tall, straight stance and high back elbow set. Creates good shift using linear lower half actions to contact. Simple, direct line drive swing path through extenstion. Showed good balance throughout swing with a mid-field approach. Flashes solid barrel and hand skill when working the baseball to the opposite field. Worked out defensively from the infield showing sound fundamental footwork while surrounding the baseball and working through transtition. Clean funneling glove skills while working through baseball out front. Athletic actions to both sides with good range. Gets rid of baseball quickly and accurately with a compact arm cirlce and arm action through extension. Also pitched showing a quick arm actions for a three-quarters arm slot. Goes right after hitters with a fastball that has good arm side run, topped at 81 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape tight spin and good depth down in the zone. Flashed very good feel for a changeup in the low 70's. Commands all pitches well in the bottom of the zone with the ability to mix and match in positive or negative counts.
