Alfredo Jose (AJ) Arias is a 2016 SS with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from East Brunswick, NJ who attends East Brunswick HS. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with plenty of room to fill out. Has twitch to frame, ran a 6.85 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well on feet with quick actions to ball, works behind the ball well, fields out front, quick transfer to a longer release, charges well, showed ability to throw from multiple arm slots with strength. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a high hand set. Upper body swing, stays short to the ball with some uphill to plane, easy swing and comes off well when squared. Creates leverage at contact with strength and carry to pull side when squared. Repeats swing well and shows rhythm. Named to Northeast Top Prospect List.
