Tanner Smith is a 2018 OF with a 5-10 174 lb. frame from Newport Beach, CA who attends Servite HS. Medium athletic build, good present strength with more to come. Left handed hitter, hits from a very spread stance with a rock back load, swings hard and creates lots of bat speed, is short and direct to the ball, bat speed plays and the aggressiveness is a plus, looks to hit the ball hard. Sound fundamentally on defense, makes very accurate throws and works through the ball well, left field profile. Good student, verbal commitment to Oregon.
