Austin Schultz is a 2018 SS/2B, OF with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Adams, NE who attends Norris. Medium frame with a strong, athletic build. Ran a 6.46 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with very athletic, quick feet while ranging for and rounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling the baseball with quick exchanges through transfer. Showed the ability to throw with accuracy from multiple arm slots while on the run. Throws generated on line carry to the bag topping at 86 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Shifts into contact with with linear lower half actions. Direct path to contact with a naturally leveraged plane. Good present bat speed and strength at contact and swung with intent. Aggressively turned the barrel to contact generating loud, hard contact to all fields throughout batting practice and game play. Good student. Named to the 2017 Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.
