Justin Butz is a 2018 LHP/1B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from McKinney, TX who attends Heritage HS. Has a large frame and an athletic build. Posted a 7.63 second sixty yard dash. On the mound, quicker pace to delivery and high leg lift with good separation and extension out front. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a short arm circle through the back while staying loose. Fastball has life and running action, changeup shows downward bite, curveball shows 1/7 shape with solid break. Developing command, best pitch is currently his breaking ball. From the outfield, moves quickly through the ball with good footwork and a quick transfers into accurate throws to the base. At the plate, left-handed hitter that starts with an upright, open stance and high hand set. Has a fuller swing and a contact approach, looks to hit the ball back up the middle. Good student.
