Brandon Deskins is a 2018 OF/LHP with a 6-0 145 lb. frame from Friendswood, TX who attends Friendswood HS. Deskins has a medium sized frame with a lean build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long loose arm action. He pitches with some effort and has some head jerk at release. Deskins gets closed at balance point and has some slight back turn to the hitters. He finishes directional well and gets some extension out front. Deskins worked just from the stretch and has a repeatable delivery. He gets some sink on his fastball and has a live arm. He threw a 1/7 curveball with developing shape and spin to it. He also threw a change up at 79 MPH with some sink to it. Deskins showed good athleticism in the outfield with good actions and clean transfers. The ball comes out clean and he made online throws. At the plate, Deskins starts with a bat wrap and has some effort to his swing. He made some hard contact to the pullside and has an aggressive approach. Solid two way player with upside. Very good student.
