Conner Ryle is a 2018 1B/LHP/OF with a 6-4 220 lb. frame from Union, KY who attends Larry A. Ryle HS. XL frame with excellent present physicality; very strong throughout. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.57 seconds. Sets up to hit from slightly open stance, cocks hands back into load, coils front hip into load, really uncoils well and shifts weight with torque, brings barrel with authority and good bat speed. Strength in swing is evident, flashed ability to drive the ball into the air deep with HR power; one of better raw power prospects of the event. Worked out in two spots. Moves well around bag at 1B, clean footwork for the most part, quick sidearm release with throws across up to 78 mph. Also saw time in OF, corner profile, deliberate movements to the ball, shows off legitimate arm strength with throws up to 84 mph. Pitched as well, lands closed off with front foot though hip opens, has extension through release, does create some angle from three quarters slot, fastball worked 75-81 mph with solid life. Curveball showed slurvy 2-8 shape, flashes sharpness to it. Did a fair job of commanding the strike zone with two pitches. Named to 2017 Ohio Valley Showcase Top Prospect List, good student.
