Spenser Hamblen is a 2021 OF/RHP with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Suwannee, GA who attends North Gwinnett. Medium and lean frame, athletic with room to fill. Ran a 6.91 second 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, worked out in the outfield fielding the ball out in front, breaks down at gather well with clean hands, upper half dominant throws with good arm strength and more to come with adjustments to lower half mechanics, creates an uphill carry and best when getting on top, topped out at 88 mph from the outfield. Secondary righthanded pitcher, athletic delivery with looseness to his motion, loose arm with a compact arm path up to a high 3/4 arm slot, fastball has life to armside up to 85 mph, mixes in a curveball with developing 11-5 shape and spin. Righthanded hitter, weight sits on his backside and he keeps it there, can add bat speed with the implementation of a weight shift into contact, bat waggle at load, long swing plane with pop when getting the bat head out in front, gap to gap approach. Good student. Named to 2019 Fall Academic Top Prospect List.
