2016 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Dan Leise is a 2017 RHP/C with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Omaha, NE who attends Elkhorn South HS. Large frame, solid build with present strength throughout. Smooth tempo delivery with a medium arm swing at seperation and an over top arm slot at release. Creates on line direction to the plate yet has more strength in lower half to develop more downhill plane in the future. Very consistent release point on the fastball with ability to work both edges of the plate. Seems very comfortable working the fastball in on hitters hands. Good feel for a curveball with 11/5 shape with some spin and depth. Induced soft ground ball contact as well as swings and misses with curveball. Flashed a change up with solid sinking life and deceptive arm speed. Mixed all pitches well with ability to throw each for strikes. Relaxed composure while on the mound with repeatable mechanics. Good student as well.
