Ernesto Soto Arguelles is a 2016 2B/SS with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Arecibo, PR who attends Vocacional Antonio Lucchetti. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build and room to fill throughout frame. Ran a 7.05 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, takes short steps to the ball, comes through the ball well, compact arm action with an over the top release point and long release on throws across, occasionally gets under throws, shows accuracy to first base. Lefthanded hitter, starts with a high hand set and back elbow with slightly open stance in the box. Lowers hands at start of swing, full swing through the zone, uses a leg lift trigger at start of swing and strides well into contact. Uphill path to the ball and looks to lift, gets the barrel through the zone, pull side approach but shows ability to hit to all fields. Good student.
