Carter Van Gytenbeek is a 2016 RHP/SS with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Greenwood Village, CO who attends Cherry Creek HS. Large frame, lean athletic well proportioned build. Pitches from a high three quarters arm slot with a long arm action. Good extension out front, throws a bit across his body but managed to control the ball on both lower corners and the delivery creates big tailing life on the fastball which generated several swings and misses. Quick arm with good projection, loses velocity from the stretch, maintained velocity well across multiple innings. Short tight break on slider with good feel, arm side fade on changeup which has solid potential though currently lags behind the fastball and slider which are both present swing and miss offerings. Moving parts to swing with a line drive plane, all or nothing type of hitter with good bat speed and an aggressive uppercut. Arm stood out in the infield, ability to throw from multiple arm slots, solid infield actions. Good student. Named to the California Underclass Showcase Top Prospect Team.
