John LaMantia is a 2017 OF/1B, RHP with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from La Grange, IL who attends St Ignatius College Prep. Large frame, strong present build. Even stance with a high hand set at the plate. Linear lower half actions through contact and creates some head and shoulder tilt at contact with the top half. Shows some present strength and jump of barrel to the gaps. Hand path is inside baseball to contact on pitches over plate and tends to get extended on pitches outer half. Shows good rhythm at the plate with an all fields approach. Fundamentals are solid throughout in the outfield. Shows some online carry with good directional drive on throws to bag, topped at 75 mph. Projectable tools in the outfield.
