Ryan Fernandez is a 2017 1B/RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Fort Worth, TX who attends Fossil Ridge HS. Large frame and a slender build with plenty of room to put on additional strength as he grows into his body. From the outfield, made online throws with solid arm strength getting up to 78 MPH. Over at first base, big target that does a nice job of keeping the ball in front of him at all times. At the plate, starts with a lower hand set, high back elbow, and a very open stance. Gets extended early in swing and looks to hit the baseball hard up the middle of the field. Does a nice job of getting to the inside pitch, making loud pull side contact. On the mound, fastball had some good late sink to it that kept hitters off balance. Excellent student.
