Cade Smith is a 2020 RHP with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Southaven, MS who attends DeSoto Central. Medium athletic build with some present strength and room for more. High leg raise delivery with good balance, fairly quick pace he holds together well, high 3/4's arm slot that he uses to consistently stay on top of the ball, tends to rush his mechanics a bit from the stretch. Works extremely quickly to where it is challenging and distracting to the hitters. Steady low 90's fastball, topped out at 93 mph, works downhill with his fastball and gets ahead in the count. Showed plus feel for his breaking ball, mostly a short and tight slider that he spotted well but also would take off the pitch to mess with hitters timing. Didn't show a change up but his feel for his breaking ball indicates he should develop a nice one. Extremely efficient and quick outing. Very good student, verbal commitment to Mississippi State.
