Valen Solano is a 2018 SS/2B, 3B with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Centennial, CO who attends Cherry Creek. Medium frame with a solid, strong build. Ran a 7.28 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with smooth, athletic footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front and works through transition well. Short arm circle at separation and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot producing accurate carry to the bag, topped at 81 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and large leg lift trigger. Generated some shift into contact with linear lower half actions. Loose, extended path to contact with a line drive plane through extension. Consistently barrel the baseball to the middle of the field with the developing ability to manipulate the barrel and work to all fields. Good student as well.
