Shane Harkins is a 2020 C/OF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from North Wales, PA who attends Germantown Academy. Large, athletic frame with plenty of physical strength proportioned nicely throughout frame. Retains looseness and quickness to frame, ran a 6.72 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, turned start in drills, receives the ball out front, gains short ground with lower half and can continue to incorporate additional footwork through release, full arm stroke through the back and gets on top of ball well, shows accuracy down to second base. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger and gathers weight on backside. Shows a clean swing path through the zone, occasionally gets mistimed with lower half mechanics, has comfort pulling the ball and looks to generate lift out front. Has tools offensively to build off of. Very good student. Verbal commitment to George Washington.
