Juan Ponce is a 2016 OF/RHP with a 5-8 143 lb. frame from Tucson, AZ who attends Sahuarita High School. Small frame, lean build with room to fill Quick actions and accelerates well when changing direction as well as ability to accelerate hands at the plate. Tough out, battled well with two strikes and can fight off pitches, good extension through contact and ball carries off the bat better than most players his size, good contact skils. Moves well in the outfield, light on feet, online accurate throws with solid arm strength. Also got on the mound as a secondary pitcher and topped out at 76 mph with good two-seam sinking action. Good student.
