Matt McGee is a 2015 C/1B with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Forest Hill, MD who attends John Carroll. Large frame with a strong, athletic, and mature build. Ran a 7.61 60-yard dash. Showed sound defensive skills behind the plate. Quick transfer and release, gains ground well with lower half on throws to second base, gets on top of the ball well, accuracy on strong throws, topped at 75 mph down. Right-handed batter, starts from a spread stance with a slight bend in knees. Strong lower half and shifts weight nicely through. Short path to the ball, generates line drive contact with occasional lift, shows bat speed with quick hands. Sees the ball deep and tracks off speed well in game action. Very good student. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List.
