Austin Wendt is a 2016 LHP/OF, 1B with a 6-5 180 lb. frame from Gilbert, AZ who attends Mesquite. Wendt has a large frame with a lean projectable build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action. Wendt has a simple directional delivery with some backside collapse. He throws across his body slightly and repeats his delivery well. Wendt threw a 1/7 curveball with solid shape and spin to it. He also throws a change up at 68 MPH with good fade to it. Wendt showed confidence in his change up and threw it for strikes. He's a projectable pitchability left hander with more velocity to come. Defensively he showed athletic actions around the bag and throws from a lower slot. At the plate, he starts with an open stance with a wide base. He has bat speed and gets occasional extension with some pop. There are some hitting tools there and he projects for some power. Interesting athletic two way player.
