Adam Rubio is a 2016 C/1B, 3B with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Commerce, CA who attends Montebello. Rubio has a medium sized frame with a solid build. Defensively he started with a side saddle set up on his pop throws and gained a lot of ground on his pop throws. He showed solid catch and throw tools with good arm strength up to 78 MPH with some carry. Rubio showed quick transfers and a clean release. He also showed good receiving skills in the games. At the plate, Rubio uses a big leg lift with a coil to start his swing and maintains balance through his swing. He showed some bat speed and has some pop as well. Rubio made line drive contact with some loft and he showed good hitting tools. Interesting player with upside. Excellent student.
