Nathan Walker is a 2016 C/RHP with a 6-5 190 lb. frame from Carlsbad, CA who attends Carlsbad HS. Large frame with a lean, projectable and well-proportioned build. Solid overall athleticism and impressive footspeed for size, position, ran a 6.85 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, narrow and low set, shows very impressive arm strength behind the plate, popped a 1.82 on throw to second base in defensive drills. Right handed hitter, wide base setup with hands away from body. Short path, works inside the baseball, flashed good feel for the barrel and developed solid rhythm later in batting practice. Projects well with additional strength gains. Also pitches, deliberate leg lift delivery, picks up momentum late, loose arm-action. Fastball up to 91 mph with occasional armside run. Outstanding student, verbal commitment to University of San Diego.
