Anthony Blackie is a 2012 RHP/OF with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Marysville, WA who attends Lake Stevens. Blackie has a big durable frame with strength in his lower half, and loose athletic actions. Works quickly on the mound and throws with relative ease from a high 3/4 arm slot. Really attacks hitters, looks to get ahead early with the fastball and finish them with his tight spinning 10-4 curveball. Good life to fastball as well and drew a lot of swings and misses during his outing. Good presence on the hill, confident in his stuff. Also showed well in the outfield, where he posted the top OF velocity at the event. Comes through the ball well on his throws and gets a good extended release. At the plate, aggressive approach from open stance and looks to lift and drive. Shows pop and the ability to stay back and go to the opposite field. Good follow.
