LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2003 National Showcase
The 6-1, 205 lb. Dunigan appears muscle bound, with his broad, thick shoulders and huge neck, but shows nothing like this on the baseball field. He has very good looseness both in his upper and lower halves and uses his natural athletic ability well on the field. Dunigan can play either right field or centerfield. He’s an average to better MLB runner underway with solid average big league arm strength and a quick, short arm stroke that gets the ball back to the infield quickly. At the plate, Dunigan has a strong short swing that generates good bat speed and promises plenty of power potential. He’s a patient hitter who looks like he has an idea at the plate. When he learns how to harness his strength, Dunigan will be able to hit the ball as far as any player in the country. Right now he hits some of the hardest line drives we've seen this year. There's no doubt that he's capable of hitting the long ball. It almost appears that he doesn't stay on the ball long enough in his present short swing. Look for Joseph to create a lot of scouting interest from now and right up to the June draft.
