David Brown is a 2030 SS/RHP/UT with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from McCalla, AL who attends Bessemer Academy. Lean and athletic frame. Room to project in the coming years. Recorded a 6.98 sixty. A primary shortstop, circles the baseball well with the feet. Two hand funnel with the feet moving toward first base. Athletic mover with the ability to change the arm slot moving up the middle. A secondary right handed pitcher, uses an offset full windup. Belt high leg lift into tall and fall back side mechanics. Medium arm action into a high three-quarter slot. Fastball shows a bit of run to the arm side, projects to add velocity as the body develops. Strong lead leg block. Used a breaker as well with 11-5 shape and feel for the pitch at the bottom of the strike zone. Also worked out in the outfield, moves directly towards the baseball. Fields the baseball with one hand off to the side, accurate to both home and third base with good carry to the throws. A right handed hitter, uses an upright stance with length to the swing through impact. Coils the hands in the swing with a double tap load. Showcased good strength with middle of the field impact. Good feel for the barrel throughout plane. Outstanding student. Named to the 14u Deep South All State Games Top Prospect List.
