Elijah Smith is a 2028 RHP/1B/3B with a 5-11 210 lb. frame from Lawsonville, NC who attends North Stokes High School. Big and physical build with lots of strength potential. Works from a full wind up on the mound with some coil over the rubber, tall and fall mechanics down the mound with a compact arm action and high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 76 mph with some sink and occasional cut, tends to pull off early with his front side and miss glove side. Curveball had some 11/5 shape and depth. 8.73 runner in the sixty. Secondary first baseman on defense, has good hands and glove work, made the plays cleanly and made accurate throws. Right handed hitter, sets up in an upright stance, very rotational swing with limited lower half shift, short hands driven swing, tends to get the barrel into the zone late for mostly opposite field contact, has the strength to develop as a hitter with significant adjustments to his approach. Excellent student.
