Kevin Mallard is a 2028 RHP/1B with a 6-1 187 lb. frame from Desoto, TX who attends Desoto. Primary RHP with a lean and athletic frame. Side stepper delivery throwing from mid 3/4 slot with shorter arm action. Fastball worked up to 76 and played firm. Showed curve with 12-6 shape when on top. Also flashed change. Also played first showing comfort around the bag. Waits back on the ball and fielded cleanly. Low slot release and made throws with accuracy. Good getting the ball out. Also ran a 7.71 sixty. Right handed hitter with a balanced base. Uses a small leg lift and stride for timing. Rocks the weight back with a rotational upper half. Swing can get long and uphill to the ball and needs to be more consistent with timing.
