Mason McDermott is a 2027 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-8 135 lb. frame from Bushwood, MD who attends Chopticon. Slender young build with lots of growing ahead of him. Primary shortstop on defense, showed active feet and good footwork through the ball, has some feel for his routes to the ball and can make plays on the run, smooth overall actions and showed his young athleticism well. Right handed hitter, starts with a high hand set from a slightly closed stance, short inside swing path, gets into his hips and legs well in his swing, consistent gap to gap contact, projects well as a hitter with his solid present approach as he gets stronger. Took a turn on the mound, works from the stretch with a long high 3/4's arm stroke. Threw all fastballs and did a good job of filling up the strike zone, topped out at 74 mph. Very good student.
