2026 PG Puerto Rico National Showcases Qualifier
Yahir Mejias Santiago is a 2027 OF/RHP/SS with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from Coamo, PR who attends Escuela Ramon Jose Davila. Long and lean athletic build that projects very well. Outstanding runner, 6.38 in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense who also shows talent on the mound. Smooth and athletic actions in the outfield, fields cleanly with lots of momentum into his throws, big arm strength and carry. Also worked out in the infield with third base actions and developing fundamentals, arm strength still stood out. Right handed hitter, sets up in a balanced stance, can shift better through his front side, has some bat speed with a line drive swing plane. Works from a high leg raise delivery on the mound, has a long and loose arm action and easy arm speed. Fastball sat in the upper 80's with plenty more there. Slowed a bit on his curveball but showed nice shape and spin, also flashed a change up. High ceiling athlete. Good student. Named to the PG Puerto Rico National Showcases Qualifier Showcase Top Prospect List.
