Franco Calaf is a 2028 1B/LHP/OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from East Elmhurst, NY who attends The Beacon. Medium athletic build with some present strength and more to come. Left handed hitter, sets up in a narrow stance with a hanging front foot timer, loose and fast hands, short to the ball with nice separation and extension through contact, creates leverage into contact and showed bat speed and lift, mostly pull side contact, projectable hitting tools as he continues to get stronger. 6.94 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman who has the athleticism to also play in the outfield, arm played well at both positions with developing fundamentals. Took a turn on the mound, works from a full wind up with a deep arm takeaway in back and a low 3/4's arm slot, short stride out front limits his extension. Fastball was in the low 80's with some running life. Tended to get under his curveball, also showed a soft change up. Good student.
