PG Grade: 10
We've seen Portugal several times. He's a big strong power type athlete with a powerful arm. As a hitter he develops outstanding bat speed and line drive power. He's also a good all around player. His future is on the mound. We've seen Tony up as high as 93 before and he's always been in the low 90s each time before Ft Myers. In January he was mostly around 88 with some life. He throws a good tight breaking ball at times in the low 70s. He could easily develop a power slider to go with his heater. He has tremendous leverage and good arm speed. Portugal is fairly developed physically making him difficult to project. However he doesn't need to project as much as others. He's already shown us a plus MLB fastball.
