Josh Midanek is a 2026 C/2B, OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Highland Park, IL who attends Highland Park. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build, room to fill throughout moving forward. Runs well, posted a 6.98 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set up behind the plate, receives the ball out front, quick out of the crouch and can continue to implement additional lower half in gaining ground; works through the ball once underway with momentum, shorter release with accuracy on throws down to second base. Longer release on throws from the outfield, fields the ball out to side, clean release and ball comes out cleanly, lots of present arm strength with carry to the intended base. Right-handed hitter, begins with a spread stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; upper body dominant swing and can get additional lower half involved. Quick turn and stays direct to the ball, contact oriented approach with comfort working to hte pull side, best contact to the middle of the field. Excellent student. Named to the Midwest Indoor Top Prospect List.
