Jake Auld is a 2023 1B/RHP with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from North Huntingdon, PA who attends Norwin. Recorded a 7.53 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, athletic frame with room to add strength. Primary first baseman with a solid defensive skill set, athletic footwork around the bag and a clean funnel out in front. Displays some agility and range from side-to-side and has the ability to change arm slots when necessary. Recorded online, accurate throws up to 78 mph during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a slightly coiled leg lift, drop-and-drive lower half mechanics and extension out in front. Fastball worked in the upper-70s for the duration of his outing and topped out at 80 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Strike thrower with a pair of breaking balls that he uses as secondary offerings. Both are still developing and mirror each other with similar 11-5 shape and tilt. Slower, more gradual breaking curveball is better at present now. Will continue to improve with proper refinements mechanically and additional velocity. Right-handed hitter that hits from an open stance with a low hand set, low back elbow and a small hover trigger. Middle-of-the field approach with plenty of present bat speed, good adjustability with the barrel and some loud impact. Displayed consistent bat-to-ball skills and some power potential to the pullside. Solid, overall tools with some upside remaining, will continue to improve with proper adjustments and maturity. Good Student.
