2025 Scorpions (TX) Prospect Showcase (2026-2027 Grads)
Andrew Clayton is a 2027 SS/2B/3B with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Grand Oaks. Medium athletic build with good present strength. 6.89 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense showing clean, athletic actions while moving to and through the baseball. Quick exchanges while working to a stable throwing position. Utilized a compact arm slot at released generating accurate carry to the bag topping at 91 mph. Right handed hitter with an upright, balanced stance. Displayed good bat speed through the zone with present barrel whip. Worked a gap to gap approach with the ability to drive the ball with solid jump off the barrel. Also pitched showing a bigger rock step delivery. Released from a low three-quarters arms lot that produced solid run to arm side in the low to mid 80's, topped at 84 mph. Matched arm slot well with curveball offering that had slurvy shape with solid depth in the upper 60's. Also flashed a changeup in the low 70's that showed fading sink to arm side. Excellent student.
