Astros Fest Itinerary June 17-21

Pitching go based on the 4 day pitching rules as we are starting game play on Thursday.

Game Format 5 Guaranteed Games
2 Pool Games 
3 Game Guarantee Bracket

Wednesday 17th - Astros Day Game (Players get to run the Bases after the game is complete)

Thursday 18th - Skills Competitions 8AM - 9:30AM ,  Pool Play Games Start after Skills Comp

Friday 19th - Finish Pool Play enter Bracket Play

Saturday 20th - Bracket Play

Sunday 21st - Complete Bracket Play

 
Player Social & Skills Competitions: 

SKILLS COMPETITION DETAILS:  Awards will be presented to the champion in each age group (not by division) in each skills competition. 

Round The Horn- (5 Players) BASEBALL USA FIELD 6
Five (5) players from each team will be allowed to participate.  The players will take their positions in the infield (1B, 2B, 3B, SS, C). The catcher will start the event by throwing it to a teammate.  Each member of the team must touch the ball in their position.  The time will start when the catcher throws and will stop when the catcher receives the final throw. ANY DROPPED BALLS OR BAD THROWS ARE CONSIDERED LIVE AND TIME WILL KEEP RUNNING! 

Base Running (RELAY RACE) - (4 Players) BASEBALL USA FIELD 5
Four (4) players from each team will be allowed to participate.    Each player will start inside the batter's box and run the bases.  Players must touch the preceding runner before they can go.  Time will start on the first step and end when touching home plate.  Any additional player who has not participated in any event can participate. 

Home Run Derby – (2 Players) BASEBALL USA FIELDS 2&3
Two (2) players from each team will be allowed to participate.  Each player will get five (5) outs.  Each batter must provide his own pitcher.  Any ball not hit over the homerun marker will be counted as an out.  The batter may take two (2) pitches.  Once the batter has used his two (2) takes, each pitch after that is not swung at will be an out. 

Flame Thrower – (3 Players) BASEBALL USA FIELD 5 (OUTFIELD)
Three (3) players from each team will be allowed to participate.  Each participating player should be fully warmed up prior to pitching.  Each player will have three throws to reach their maximum velocity.  The fastest pitch wins.  In the event of a tie, we will average the three throws to determine the winner.  If this method does not break the tie, we will have a throw off
