2024 Top Prospects
Andrew DuMont  RHP - 2024 - Wildwood, MO
Tennessee

DuMont showed premium arm speed during his outing at Sunshine Midwest. Consistently locating 90 MPH fastballs with run and late life around the zone and eventually topping out at 91. Paired the fastball with a late hard biting slider in the low 80's. The arm speed, ability to hide the baseball in the delivery and the strike throwing prowess really stood out. High level arm in the 2024 class.

Wade Mann  LHP - 2024 - Kearney, MO
Jacksonville State

A left-handed pitcher/first baseman that stood out in game at Sunshine Midwest. Mann located a fastball up to 87 and a 1-7 shape curve with big depth and consistent sharp efficiency. At times the fastball and curveball showed up to 20 MPH of velocity separation out of the same arm slot. Both pitches play well off of each other and he struck out seven in three innings on the mound. Definitely has some traits at the plate with big strength and hand speed that produced a 97 MPH tee exit velocity. Got to the barrel in game for multiple hits including a loud ground rule double to the pull side gap. Really intriguing prospect.

Connor Rice  SS - 2024 - Sedalia, MO

Connor Rice showed all the traits of a developing next level infielder at Sunshine Midwest. Ran a 6.93 60-yard dash, showed fundamental footwork, hands that work through the baseball and threw 86 across the diamond. Showed real bat speed at the plate, got to a consistent hitting position and got on plane with the baseball. Balanced with rhythm and timing, made a lot of notable loud contact and collected multiple hits in game.

Emerson Lane  RHP - 2024 - Bixby, OK

Lane showed true pitchability with a three pitch-mix during his outing at Sunshine Midwest. Maintained arm speed and release all three pitches from a three-quarter arm slot. Ran the fastball up to 85, threw a sharp and efficient spinning curve with 11-5 shape and showed real feel for turning over a change up. Sequenced the stuff well, located, and went right at hitters. Struck out five over three scoreless innings.

Gamaliel Jones  OF - 2024 - Tulsa, OK
Angelo State

Jones showed impact tools and top of the order potential at Sunshine Midwest. An outfielder that ran a 6.61 60-yard dash and threw 84 from the outfield, certainly has the ability to cover some ground in the outfield and make strong and accurate throws to bases. Utilizes his speed and puts the baseball in play at the plate, collected three hits, stole a couple bases and showed the offensive tools to set the table and put pressure on a defense.


2025 Top Prospects
Max Bettis  RHP - 2025 - Topeka, KS
Kansas State

Max Bettis looked the part of an imposing future power pitching presence on the mound at Sunshine Midwest. Showed a three pitch-mix out of a fluid athletic delivery. Fastball touched 90, slider showed late horizontal break and the change-up showed the makings of a true third pitch. Possesses present stuff with more to come.

Nathan Matoush  LHP - 2025 - Hillsboro, IL
Dartmouth

Matoush impressed as a left-handed pitcher with a three pitch-mix at Sunshine Midwest. Showed a unique deceptive with a three-quarter arm slot and the ability to locate the stuff. Consistent low 80’s fastballs up to 84, a sweeping breaking ball with depth and significant velo separation off the fastball and feel for turning over a change up with late drop low in the zone. Velo separation on the stuff and pitchability with deception stood out. Struck out six and allowed just a single baserunner over three innings on the mound.

Connor Day  C - 2025 - Barnhart, MO
Southwestern Illinois College

Day impressed with his all around game at Sunshine Midwest. Primary catcher with sound fundamentals and a strong arm, threw out a baserunner in game. Also willingly filled in at other spots defensively and did so adequately. Put together quality in game at-bats and showed a combination of strength and bat speed in BP to suggest some power potential to come. Also hopped on the mound, ran the fastball up to 84 and showed the ability to locate two pitches competitively around the zone. Notable solid all around performance.

Cameron Cooper  SS - 2025 - Millstadt, IL

Cooper flashed some power potential in BP and has the size, strength and hand speed to develop into a power hitting presence over time. Stays compact and well connected throughout the swing to suggest he’ll get to the barrel enough to make use of that power as well. Has tools that should play in either the infield or outfield with true developing arm strength. Will be a played to track going forward.

Henry Hoge  OF - 2025 - Lenexa, KS

An outfielder with the speed and long strides to cover some ground in the outfield, to go with a solid developing arm strength that could make him a fit in all three outfield spots. Hoge has a slender 6-foot-3 frame with plenty of room to add strength. Showed a balanced approach at the plate, tight turns rotating to the baseball and feel for the barrel during BP. Got to the barrel in game as well collecting a couple hits including a triple while using the whole field.

Landon Preston  C - 2025 - Andover, KS
Uncommitted

Preston stood out for his defensive ability behind the plate at Sunshine Midwest. Showed quick feet, fundamental footwork and a quick release to go with present arm strength in defensive workouts popping a 1.95 and consistently putting accurate throws on the bag. Showed balance at the plate with some traits to suggest further development in his ability to hit and hit for power.

Anden Oviedo  SS - 2025 - Overland Park, KS
Palm Beach State

Oviedo displayed the ability to make an all around impact while at Sunshine Midwest. A middle infielder that showed fundamental footwork, soft hands and the ability to take efficient angles laterally to the baseball. Certainly showed the traits to develop into a next level middle infielder. Showed a blend of hit and power at the plate as well, creates separation, has some hand speed and put some balanced in sync swings on the baseball in BP. Collected two hits in game as well showing some feel for the barrel throughout the weekend.


2026 Top Prospects
Milo Burton  SS - 2026 - Overland Park, KS
Missouri

A two-way standout from Sunshine Midwest. Burton showed a combination athleticism and arm strength in defensive workouts running a 6.87 60-yard dash and throwing 87 across the diamond. Showed a polished in sync swing that he repeated well in BP. Impressed even further on the mound showing fluid athletic movements in the delivery and some pretty loud stuff. Present feel for spin and up to 88 with the fastball. Then showed two distinct breaking balls, an 11-5 shape curve with depth that spun consistently over 2600 RPM and a slider with horizontal bite. True two-way potential going forward.

Luke Schaning  OF - 2026 - West Allis, WI

Schaning showed big tools at Sunshine Midwest. In workouts he ran a 6.94 60-yard dash, threw 83 from the outfield and put up a tee exit velocity of 91. He’s an athletic outfielder with plenty of quick twitch and fundamentals defensively. Showed definite hand speed and strength during BP with the ability to create some leverage and drive the baseball. Proved it in game with five hits in eight at-bats, regularly getting on time and putting quality swings on the baseball. A ton of traits to develop here.

Tyler Putnam  RHP - 2026 - Columbia, MO
Tennessee

Another athlete with two-way potential from Sunshine Midwest. Putnam showed plenty of projectable traits in the infield, most notably big arm strength throwing 88 across the diamond. Some traits and power potential at the plate with some present feel for the barrel collecting two hits in game. Really stood out on the mound with a 6-foot-3 frame, controllable athletic movements in the delivery and a high three-quarter slot. Ran the fastball up to 87 with plenty more velo to come and showed a breaking ball that he utilized as a swing and miss out pitch. Struck out seven in his three innings on the mound.

Blake Hoffer  LHP - 2026 - Glenview, IL
Illinois

Potential two-way LHP/1B that collected an event high six hits during his in game at-bats. Showed power upside in BP as well that would profile well at first base. On the mound showed three pitches out of a three-quarter arm slot and the ability to work downhill with the fastball. Curve has consistent 1-7 shape and the change up looks like a solid third pitch. Impressive all around performance at Sunshine Midwest.


2027 Top Prospects
Griffin Boesen  1B - 2027 - Tampa, FL
Duke

Boesen put the hit tool on display in games at Sunshine Midwest collecting four hits in his six at-bats. There's some projectable athleticism to the frame with present fundamentals both at the plate and in the field. Real athletic movements in the box with a smooth left-handed swing and feel for the barrel. The bat is going to play and the developing arm strength looks like another potential high level tool as well.
