2019 Top Prospects

Tyler McKenna  C - 2019 - Valrico, FL
Jacksonville

McKenna showed excellent skills behind the dish with the strongest arm of the event at 81 mph. The accuracy and downhill carry on the throws stood out and that arm strength played exceptionally well on the mound. He was up to 89 mph from the bump while flashing heavy run and sink; McKenna showed very good arm speed and projects very well as a pitcher too.

Philip Clarke  OF - 2019 - Winter Park, FL

Clarke is an exciting prospect with a strong skill set in nearly every facet of the game. The 6.8 runner showed good arm strength from the outfield with one of the most fluid swings at the event. Clarke works well through the ball in the outfield with sound footwork and showed very good bat speed and a high power ceiling as well.

Matthew Powell  C - 2019 - Fort Myers, FL
Florida

Powell has incredible strength which translates to very loud tools on both sides of the ball. The primary catcher posted the best pop time of the event at 1.84 with very quick exchanges and releases which worked well in game. He showed a very mechanically sound and fluid swing with present bat speed and excellent extension through contact.

Mitchell Leroy  RHP - 2019 - Tampa, FL
Hillsborough CC

LeRoy showed some of the best velocity of the event with a quick and simple arm action and a fastball up to 88 mph. He showed a very good pace and tempo on the mound and a feel for three pitches which included a tight, biting slider and a changeup with very good arm side fade to the pitch.

Kyle Mock  2B - 2019 - Belle Isle, FL
Troy

Mock was one of the most polished hitters at the event and the swing played well both during BP and in-game. He has very quick hands with a fluid, lofted swing path and utilized his lower half well with a linear weight shift through contact. Mock absolutely wore out the pull side of the field with hard hit line drives and showed very real pop as well.

Richard D Rodriguez  2B - 2019 - PeƱuelas, PR
State College of Florida

Rodriguez' carrying tool is his present speed as he turned in the fastest recorded 60-yard dash time with a blistering 6.62 seconds. The athleticism translates well defensively where he showed very smooth and fluid actions with quick hands. The offensive approach is a simple, line drive-oriented swing path.

Derek Ordaz  3B - 2019 - Hialeah, FL

Ordaz showed excellent two-way potential all weekend with present bat speed and strength to go along with a quick arm on the mound. Ordaz leverages well throughout his swing to create power to the pull side and showed an advanced feel for pitching with an online arm action and maintains his velocity well.

Matthew DeVarona  RHP - 2019 - Windermere, FL

DeVarona has a very long and projectable body with a listed frame of 6-foot-4, 195-pounds and already shows a promising arsenal. The delivery is compact and repeatable with good balance as he stays tall through his backside. The arm speed is very impressive and is quick enough to allow his upper and lower half to be synced up well.

Idair Garcia  C - 2019 - Miami, FL

Garcia showed loud tools at the plate with quick and strong hands that were in excellent position to launch the ball at the point of contact. He leverages to pull with a power-oriented approach and is looking to drive balls out. He also showed quick feet and sure hands at first base.

Alberson Mogollon  OF - 2019 - Wildwood, FL
St. Johns River CC

Mogollon showed one of the best arms at the event with arm strength that was recorded up to 86 mph. The footwork was outstanding as he worked well through the ball and showcased fluid and smooth mechanics. Mogollon utilized a direct path to the ball with an even planed swing and worked from a line drive-oriented approach.

Jorel Ortega  SS - 2019 - Lake Worth, FL
Tennessee/Ulster County CC

Ortega was a very impressive defensive prospect with solid arm strength across the diamond and athletic actions. He showed quick feet with good lateral agility and the ability to maintain body control with difficult throws. Ortega flashed quality bat speed with quick hands and the bat projects very well.


2020 Top Prospects

Cooper Nelson  RHP - 2020 - Palm Harbor, FL
Florida State

Nelson has a lean, wiry frame to go along with a loose and whippy arm action on the mound. The righthanded pitcher showed a strong three-pitch mix with a sweeping breaking ball and a changeup that he was able to maintain his arm speed on. The arm strength played well from the infield as well and he showed advanced usage of his lower half in his swing to aid in creating line drives.

Logan Schmidt  RHP - 2020 - Orange Park, FL
St. Johns River CC

Schmidt has a very strong pitcher's frame at 6-foot-4, 190-pounds and uses a loose arm action on the mound. He is able to create good plane on his fastball and the secondary pitches were very advanced. The curveball showed late bite and depth to it while the changeup was thrown with similar arm speed and had good fading life.

Gabriel Sjostrom  LHP - 2020 - Miami, FL

Sjostrom showed a balanced and repeatable delivery as he attacked hitters with his fastball from the exclusive stretch. He utilizes his lower half to drive well off the mound and had a loose, whippy arm action to create downhill plane to both sides.

Jonathan Ramallo  OF - 2020 - Miami, FL
Florida Southwestern State College

Ramallo showed very advanced arm strength from the outfield, up to 86 mph, as he had the highest outfield velocity of the class for this event. He showed very loose and athletic actions in the outfield with fluidity throughout. The athleticism stands out as the primary outfielder has strong centerfield tools.

Luke Baker  LHP - 2020 - Gainesville, FL
Mississippi

Baker is one of the more projectable arms that was present at the event with a 6-foot-4 frame and lanky, lean build. He used a loose and fast arm action while hiding the ball well and manipulating life on his fastball well. Baker has an advanced feel for pitching with quality secondaries to complement the arsenal.

Clay Campbell  SS - 2020 - Goffstown, NH

Campbell is a very projectable prospects with solid foundational tools both offensively and defensively. The instincts were very impressive and the actions smooth in the infield with a line drive swing path and a compact, repeatable stroke at the plate. He also ran his fastball up to 82 mph on the mound showcasing some of his arm strength.


2022 Top Prospects

Colby Shelton  SS - 2022 - Litha, FL
Alabama

Shelton may only be a 2021 but he has good aggressiveness at the plate as he takes big swings. The power played in game with multiple loud fly balls to the pull side and he utilized a wide, balanced stance with a direct, line drive-oriented swing path at the plate.
