2022 Top Prospects

Drew Lafferty  RHP - 2022 - South Park, PA
Kentucky

It was the typical day for Kentucky commit Lafferty if pumping 93 mph counts as typical, barely getting touched in his two innings of work. The mechanics and arm action for the righty really can't be any more clean, sequencing well with a tight 10-4 slider and fading changeup on command in the arsenal. If for some reason you need more, the 6'1" 205 lb prospect can also mash at the plate with plenty of pop, posting an exit velo of 97 mph. Lafferty displays more than enough confidence in his game and is a definite draft name to keep an eye on for the future.

Andrew Ripepi  3B - 2022 - McMurray, PA
Pittsburgh

If you're looking for someone to just absolutely mash baseballs, University of Pittsburgh commit Ripepi is your guy. Ripepi takes the phrase "rip the cover off the ball" to a whole new level, showcasing effortless bat speed and plenty of lower half strength to post an exit velocity of 95 mph. The corner IF prospect has tons of juice in the arm as well with effortless zip out of the hand up to 94 mph with clean glove work and soft hands present. He showcased an advanced overall hit tool, translating it into game play by absolutely pummeling two balls to the backside.

Ethan Schimony  C - 2022 - State College, PA
Akron

Schimony showcased well on both sides of the ball over the weekend, while flashing some positional versatility by showing he can handle an outfield position as well. He recorded a 1.93 second pop time with game-like actions and quickness out of the crouch. He incorporates an extremely quick mid-line transfer to produce highly accurate throws. At the plate, the left-handed hitting Akron commit implores a simple stroke with advanced bat-to-ball skills and burgeoning power. He uses the whole field well and exhibits extreme barrel awareness. Also, recorded arm strength up to 86 mph during outfield drills.

2023 Top Prospects

Cooper Bryan  3B - 2023 - Chester Springs, PA
Shepherd College

Bryan exudes long-term projection coupled with present tools that you can dream. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound corner infielder has agile footwork in the field that pairs well with his 86 mph arm velocity. At the plate, he uses his long levers to create tons of whip to his barrel and impacts the baseball well to all fields. The upside is immense as he continues to mature and he certainly will be a name to continue monitoring.

Greyson Kovatch  OF - 2023 - Glenmoore, PA
Lafayette

Kovatch successfully put the athleticism on display regardless of where he was on the field, starting his day by posting a 6.90 sixty time. The speed translated directly to the OF where he flashed clean quick footwork and plenty of life behind the arm up to 88 mph. The projectable 6'0" 185 lb righty has more than enough potential on the mound as well, using a high 3/4 slot and deception in the delivery to generate consistent swing and miss. Offensively, Kovatch used a simple repeatable stroke with clear barrel control to drive the ball gap to gap with carry and backspin, posting an exit velo of 91 mph.

Braden Mosby  C - 2023 - Harrisburg, PA
Youngstown State

Mosby has added notable strength since our last look and used it amply well in both facets of his game. The Youngstown State commit recorded the best pop time of the day with a 1.89 by using his strong lower half to explode out of the crouch and his above average arm strength. At the plate, the strength was on display again as Mosby used a heavy barrel and strong hands to impact the baseball well to the middle and pull sides. The marked strength gains and subtle changes to his movements have bode well for the 2023 Pennsylvania native.

Antonio Cordeiro  C - 2023 - Pittsburgh, PA
St. Bonaventure

Cordeiro was extremely consistent on both sides of the ball this weekend, as the uncommitted 2023 Grad exhibits a fundamentally sound defensive skill set and an advanced approach at the plate. He stays short and direct with his swing, lining balls from gap-to-gap with authority. He recorded a 1.97 second pop time with exemplary footwork out of the crouch and a quick mid-line transfer.

Matthew Tabet  RHP - 2023 - Wilton, CT
Amherst College

From a 6-foot,195-pound frame, Tabet's strength was put on display constantly throughout his day. Starting from his primary IF spot, Tabet worked through the ball well and had plenty of effortless life in the arm up to 88 mph. The arm was also intriguing on the bump, as he used a clean 3/4 slot and a three pitch FB/CB/CH arsenal to sequence well and keep hitters off balance. On the offensive end, Tabet flashed a line drive approach with the ability to get the barrel out in front and generate consistent middle of the field contact, posting an exit velo of 88 mph.

2024 Top Prospects

Carson Kensinger  LHP - 2024 - Duncansville, PA
Frostburg State University

The young developing 5'11" 210 lb frame of Kensinger showed more than enough projection in his game, sitting right around 80 mph on the mound with a controlled compact delivery that pounded the zone effectively and efficiently. The lefty flashed a full raw arsenal that featured a 12-6 curveball as well as a change piece that looked the same as a fastball out of the hand. Life in the arm was also present in the OF, as Kensinger geared it up to 85 mph with low accurate throws on target. At the plate, he consistently worked the middle pull side of the field, showcasing an inside bat path that drove the ball with clear backspin.

Brady Miller  SS - 2024 - Oakdale, PA
Oklahoma

Miller is an intriguing 2024 Grad that will only continue to get better as he physically matures. In the field, he incorporates good laterally range to either side, the ability to change arm angles when necessary and arm strength up to 83 mph across. At the plate, he stays simple with his swing and displays a ton of feel for the barrel. He used a middle-of-the field approach to scorch several line drives in both BP and game action.
