2015 Top Prospects

Bryan Arias  SS - 2015 - San Antonio, TX   Texas San Antonio

Arias had an outstanding all around weekend, running a 6.57 60-yard dash, threw 86 mph across the infield, and topped out at 89 mph on the mound as a secondary. His bat was equally, if not more impressive, connecting for hard line drive contact that carry extremely well off the barrel.

Bryce Verplank  OF - 2015 - Flower Mound, TX   Oklahoma State

Standing at 6-foot-5, Verplank was hard to miss, both physically and with his tools. Verplank showed big arm strength all over the diamond, topping out at 89 mph on the mound, 85 mph from first base, and 88 mph from the outfield. He showed natural lift in his swing with the ability to hit to all fields.

Jesus Gamez  RHP - 2015 - Dover, OK   Stephen F. Austin/Seminole State College

Long clean arm action, was in total control over the 4 innings using 3 pitches for strkes. Topped at 88 with his fastball. Held velocity through out outing at 85-87. Curveball showed 11/5 shape with good depth and mixed in sinking change up.

Hill Alexander  OF - 2015 - Arlington, TX   Midland College

Alexander is an interesting athlete with broad shoulder and projectable strength who ran a 6.83 60-yard dash. He also made noise with his bat, getting the barrel through the zone quickly and squaring the ball up for hard contact to his pull side.

Nicholas Bartley  3B - 2015 - Lubbock, TX   Uncommitted

Bartley had a strong showing with the bat, whipping the barrel through the zone with good bat speed and natural lift, generating nice strength to his pull side.

Christian Browder  C - 2015 - Sugar Land, TX   Uncommitted

A left-handed hitter with a short, powerful swing path, Browder has a sound approach and good bat speed. He also posted a 2.01 pop time from behind the plate and ran a 6.91 60 yard dash.

Michael Brown  OF - 2015 - Pflugerville, TX   Dartmouth

Showing off his athleticism, Brown ran a 6.71 60-yard dash and proved that his speed plays well on the bases too. He showed a short and quick swing with plenty of strength to right field.

Jordan Cannon  C - 2015 - Centerville, TX   Sam Houston State

The 6-foot-2 Cannon impressed in all facets of his game, with his swing being one of his best tools. He shows a fluid path with natural lift and big carry off the barrel to all parts of the field. A primary catcher, Cannon also ran a 6.90 60-yard and impressed behind the plate popping a 1.98 and throwing 78 mph. Cannon also pitched and topped at 86 with his fastball.

Andrew Celania  RHP - 2015 - Lucas, TX   Texas at Dallas

Has a long lean build with room to fill out. topped at 83 and mixed in a 11/5 curveball with good action and depth. has an aggressive mentality and attacked hitters.

Ryan Choate  OF - 2015 - Dallas, TX   Uncommitted

An outstanding overall athlete, Choate ran an impressive 6.72 60 yard dash time and threw 82 mph from the outfield. He gets his hands in a good position to drive the baseball at the plate.

Jack Cushing  RHP - 2015 - Flower Mound, TX   Georgetown

Cushing has a loose arm that works with his fastball topping at 85. Also mixed in an 11/5 curveball at 72.

Angel DeLaFuente  1B - 2015 - Spring, TX   Blinn College

DeLaFuente showed an interesting hit tool from the right side, connecting for hard contact to all parts of the field, showing a quick swing and a strong feel for the barrel.

Nolan Glubke  2B - 2015 - Spicewood, TX   Furman

Along with throwing 85 mph across the infield, Glubke showed a balanced right-handed swing with the ability to loft the ball deep to left field, seeing the ball jump off his barrel nicely. He also topped at 84 on the mound with good arm side run on fastball.

Gabriel Guzman  OF - 2015 - Cypress, TX   Blinn College

A live bodied athlete with plus speed and a plus arm, Guzman ran a 6.75 60 yard dash time and threw 87 mph from the outfield. He also flashed good bat speed and power potential.

Chad Hardy  OF - 2015 - McKinney, TX   Paris Junior College

Hardy showed very intriguing tools throughout the weekend, running an impressive 6.65 60-yard dash and topped out at 89 mph from the outfield. From the right side of the plate he showed strength with simple swing mechanics and uses his lower half well.

Cole Haring  OF - 2015 - Katy, TX   Uncommitted

One of the event's elite athletes, Haring ran a 6.59 60 yard dash time and threw 85 mph from the outfield. He also shows off good bat speed and a line drive swing path.

Joe Harrel  RHP - 2015 - Corpus Christi, TX   Uncommitted

Arm works well with a short arm action, topped at 85 with his fastball that had good arm side run. Had good feel for curveball at 70.

William Harris  OF - 2015 - Golden, CO   Abilene Christian

Harris showed plus speed in the 60-yard, posting a 6.46 and followed that up by throwing 87 mph from the outfield. A very projectable 6-foot-3 frame, Harris showed a quick path to the ball with line drive contact to his pull side.

Will Herrera  C - 2015 - Colleyville, TX   Uncommitted

Herrera had a strong showing with his right-handed swing, getting very good extension and using his strength to drive the ball deep to left field with natural lift in his swing.

Ty Hoecker  LHP - 2015 - Santa Fe, TX   College of Charleston

Topped at 86 with his fastball that had good arm side run. Also mixed in a cutter at 80. Curveball had tight spin and showed feel for his change up.

Mitchell Johnson  OF - 2015 - Humble, TX   Temple College

Johnson impressed the entire weekend with his excellent athleticism, running a 6.90 60-yard and showed off his arm strength topping at 88 mph, both from the outfield and on the mound. He also showed a short, compact swing with strength from the right side.

Eungjae Kim  OF - 2015 - Plano, TX   Uncommitted

Showed good athleticism all weekend running a 6.91 sixty and throwing 85 from the OF, 83 from the INF and 81 off mound. Also showed a short compact swing from both sides of the plate.

Christopher Logan  RHP - 2015 - Austin, TX   Ranger College

Athletic build, topped at 85 with fastball with a compact delivery. Has good command of all his pitches.

Gaby Martinez  C - 2015 - Watauga, TX   Air Force

Primary catcher that wanted to pitch and he impressed with a clean delivery with his fastball topping out at 85. Threw a very clean inning with 2 strike outs and a weak ground ball to second.

Justin Massey  RHP - 2015 - Baytown, TX   Uncommitted

Massey showed off his arm strength all over the field, topping out at 86 mph from the outfield, 85 in the infield, and 83 mph on the mound. He showed a fluid bat path from the right side and ran a 7.05.

Hunter McClellan  RHP - 2015 - Nacogdoches, TX   Houston Baptist University/San Jacinto CC

Long lean projectable build with good arm speed. Topped at 88 with fastball sitting 83-85. Mixed in a straight change and curveball that got better through out his 4 innings.

Chase Moake  3B - 2015 - Little Elm, TX   Uncommitted

Has short quick arm action topping at 88 with his fastball, also showed curveball potential with a 12/6 curveball with good depth.

Mitchell Morris  OF - 2015 - Wichita Falls, TX   Western Texas College

With a lean, athletic build, Morris showed strength off the barrel in his right-handed swing and projects for more as he continues to add strength. He also showed well in the skills portion, running a 6.97 60-yard and threw 90 mph from the outfield. Also showed good arm strength on mound topping at 85 and mixed in a 1/7 curveball with good depth.

Marshall Nichol  OF - 2015 - Dallas, TX   Hendrix College

Nichol showed a quick, compact swing from the right side, creating line drive contact with carry off the barrel. He also showed off his athleticism, running a 6.94 60-yard dash, threw 85 mph from the outfield, and popped a 1.94 from behind the plate.

Jesse Philp  LHP - 2015 - Lufkin, TX   Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

Has a long arm action that works, fastball topped at 84 and mixed in a curveball at 69 and a downplane change up at 69.

Daniel Priwin  OF - 2015 - Sugar Land, TX   Uncommitted

Priwin flashes above average bat speed and a balanced, powerful approach. He also ran a 6.95 60 yard dash and threw 89 mph from the outfield.

Brandon Provence  RHP - 2015 - Fairview, TX   Uncommitted

Athletic build, over the top slot with a quick arm action. Topped at 87 with arm side run. Was aggressive with fastball and mixed in a 71 MPH curveball and change up.

Nolan Ritchie  SS - 2015 - Frisco, TX   Uncommitted

Ball comes out clean and topped out 84 with his fastball. Mixed in curveball at 72.

Alex Schmitz  SS - 2015 - Tulsa, OK   Oral Roberts

Schmitz ran a 6.91 60-yard dash and swung the bat from the right side very well this weekend. With a physical build, Schmitz used his strength and created leverage in his swing to drive the ball deep to his pull side.

Colton Thompson  RHP - 2015 - Broken Arrow, OK   Northern Oklahoma College-ENID

Topped at 85 with his fastball and showed a solid split finger fastball with late drop. Has idea how to pitch.

Griffin Tolle  C - 2015 - Fort Worth, TX   Uncommitted

Athletic catcher who showed good feet and hands behind plate. Also ran a 6.98 and took solid round of batting practice showing line drive swing plane with lift.

Chase Tucker  SS - 2015 - Fairview, TX   Uncommitted

Tucker moves well in the infield, showing athletic actions with good glove work. He showed a solid bat from the right side and showed off his big run tool, clocking in with a 6.67 60-yard dash.

Jake Wharton  3B - 2015 - Baton Rouge, LA   Louisiana-Lafayette

With a strong 6-foot-2 frame, Wharton showed well in all facets of his game, running a 6.72 60-yard dash and threw 86 mph from the outfield and 82 across the infield. He shows quick hands from the right side with extension in his swing and strength to pull side.
