Kirtland ran a sub 5.00 40-yard, showing good overall athleticism with speed that will develop well as he gets older. In the box, he showed good hand speed and barrel feel that make it easy to project upon the swing. The actions in the infield were good as well.
Projectable 6-3/170 frame with upper 70's fastball velocity and a loose arm. It's a clean operation from a downhill angle, eating up hitters at this age and attacking in the zone. He showed feel with a short slider and the change as well.
Simple, balanced swing with the ability to get on the barrel and get extended out front. Canter showed mid 70's arm strength from the outfield, and was in the zone with 72-mph off the mound. It's a thin 6-foot frame to fill into as he matures.
Up to 74-mph on the mound with good movement patterns to the fastball and some bite on the low 60's slider that featured depth. He was able to get in the zone and attack hitters.
Johnson took the most consistent round of batting practice in the entire Gateway event. He's got a simple trigger that lets him get the barrel out on time and live through the middle of the field with line drive contact & pull-side barrels.
