2021 Top Prospects

Braden Montgomery  OF - 2021 - Madison, MS
Stanford

Montgomery wowed everyone with his arm strength, as he threw 97 mph from the outfield and 90 from the mound. The Stanford commit also is a high level switch-hitter, with plus bat speed and power potential from the right side of the plate especially.

Sky Jones  RHP - 2021 - Burlingame, CA
Uncommitted

Jones is a present strong athlete with a fast arm from a deceptive over the top arm slot. His 85-88 mph fastball really got on hitters well and his 2-seam fastball had nice action to it. He also threw a power breaking ball that he got on top of well at times with lots of depth.

Austin Beck  SS - 2021 - Allen, TX
Angelo State

Beck has a slender 5-10/163 build but has surprising strength in his right handed swing and really stung some balls hard while showing his power. He's a 6.87 runner with the athleticism to stay in the middle infield at the next level.

Caiden Huber  SS - 2021 - Yucaipa, CA
Southern California

Huber has an outstanding 6-3/185 build that has present strength with plenty more to come. A Southern California commit, he's a left handed hitter with very good bat speed and a swing that creates big barrel whip that makes the ball jump hard.

Tyler McCuistion  SS - 2021 - Tomball, TX
Baylor

A Long Beach State commit, McCuistion's best tool at the showcase was his right handed bat speed and ability to get plus carry on the ball to the middle of the field. He has very quick hands at the plate and some natural lift n his swing.

Corey Guevara  OF - 2021 - San Pedro, CA
Uncommitted

Guevera had some of the best hitter's hands at the showcase and really fires them well at the ball, including when he easily turned on an 87 mph fastball and drove it deep up the left centerfield gap. He's also a 6.83 runner.

Samuel Brewer  OF - 2021 - Chula Vista, CA
Uncommitted

Brewer is a big and strong 6-1/190 right handed hitter who looks bigger than his listed size. He has lots of raw bat speed from a loose and extended swing and hit the ball very hard to the pull side. He's a fundamentally sound outfielder on defense who also plays first base.

Andy Moreno  SS - 2021 - Peoria, AZ
Uncommitted

A Grand Canyon commit, Moreno has quick and polished actions in the middle infield and will stand out on defense at the next level, most likely at second base. He has a calm and well balanced right handed swing and a high contact approach at the plate.

Aaron Oropeza  C - 2021 - El Paso, TX
Midland College

Oropeza has a nice combination of defensive and offensive skills and tools at a premium position. He's athletic and flexible behind the plate and has very good rhythm and bat speed as a right handed hitter

Bryson Reif  LHP - 2021 - Yuba City, CA
Uncommitted

Reif has a slender and projectable 6-0/162 build and a loose, long arm action from an extended 3/4's arm slot. He worked up to 84 mph with his fastball with outstanding life on it at times. He showed good feel for spinning the ball and had a very advanced and lively change up.

Levi Nicodemus  RHP - 2021 - Spokane, WA
Uncommitted

Nicodemus has all the pitches, including some that one doesn't see often. His 80-83 fastball is firm enough to get by hitters and he rarely throws a pitch straight or in the middle of the plate.

2022 Top Prospects

Jacob Sullens  OF - 2022 - Keller, TX
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

The 6-1/185 Sullens has an impressive combination of speed, strength and overall athleticism. He ran a 6.81 sixty, threw 89 mph from the outfield and showed advanced right handed bat speed with the present ability to back spin the ball and create carry.

Bryson Hoier  OF - 2022 - Paso Robles, CA
Loyola Marymount

Hoier has plenty of present strength for a sophomore and room for lots more on his 6-1/175 frame. He has very good raw bat speed and an aggressive swing approach from the right side and showed the ability to drive the gaps hard. He's also a 7.06 runner who can play both infield and outfield.

Adrien Martin  3B - 2022 - Albuquerque, NM
New Mexico

Martin is a strong 6-0/190 right handed hitter with a fluid swing and very good lower half use in generating bat speed and power potential. He has a strong arm, too, throwing 85 mph during infield drills and 83 off the mound.

Elijah Castaneda  OF - 2022 - Rio Rancho, NM
Amarillo College

Castaneda is a very interesting two-way prospect. He's a 6.88 runner who has strength at the plate and present right handed bat speed. He's raw on the mound and only threw fastballs for two innings but was up to 90 mph while working effectively at 85-88.

Benjamin Watson  1B - 2022 - Gilbert, AZ
Pima CC

Watson has a nice combination of present strength and projectability and has a nice left handed swing that produces present bat speed and pop. He had a number of extra base hits in the games and really showed his offensive potential well.

Tony Pluta  C - 2022 - Palatine, IL
Arizona

The 5-7/150 Pluta has some growing and strengthening to do but he had pretty much the nicest swing at the showcase, with outstanding fluidity, plane and timing. He has solid young actions behind the plate defensively and a strong arm, which he used to throw out a runner in the games at 2.11.

Maxton Peck  C - 2022 - Riverton, UT
Uncommitted

Peck had impressive defensive tools and skills behind the plate, with good lower body life and quickness. He's a right handed hitter with lots of strength in his swing and can hit the ball a long way to the middle of the field.

Jimmy Williams  OF - 2022 - Carefree, AZ
Antelope Valley College

Williams is a primary outfielder but it looked like he had a higher ceiling on the mound. His 6-3/175 build is very loose and projectable and he was up to 83 mph with outstanding running and sinking life.

2023 Top Prospects

Dillon Roberts  RHP - 2023 - Cave Creek, AZ
Uncommitted

The 6-0/200 Roberts is simply stronger than most of his age group peers and that really shows best at the plate. He has very good bat speed for a freshman and the present ability to turn on the ball and create lift and carry.

Jet Gilliam  OF - 2023 - Henderson, NV
College of Southern Nevada

Gilliam is a live bodied athlete with an appropriate name, as he's a 6.96 runner as a freshman, speed that is just going to improve as he gets stronger, and looks to have very strong defensive tools in centerfield. He has a loose right handed swing with developing bat speed at the plate.

Derek Schaefer  RHP - 2023 - Phoenix, AZ
Tennessee

Schaefer has a very young 6-0/150 body that projects very well and good overall athleticism. He has quick hands at the plate from the right side and can drive the ball to left centerfield with carry already. He also had a very loose arm on the mound with a fastball up to 80 mph and a true slider.

Will Shelor  RHP - 2023 - Chandler, AZ
Uncommitted

Shelor is a primary outfielder but was most impressive on the mound at this event. He was up to 86 mph from a compact delivery and arm action and had plus running life at times that caused problems for right handed hitters. His big breaking curveball was a solid second pitch.
