2029 Top Prospects
James Vecchio
LHP - 2029 - Chagrin Falls, OH
A primary left-handed pitcher, Vecchio impressed on both the mound and at the plate. He ran the fastball up to 81 with obvious athleticism in the delivery and was consistently on the barrel at the plate throughout the weekend.
Mason Koth
OF - 2029 - Algonquin, IL
Koth, a primary outfielder provided and interesting look at the plate and in definsive workouts, reaching 81 mph from the outfield and showing off the power/speed combo with an inside-the-park homer.
Jackson Carpen
3B - 2029 - Naperville, IL
Had a solid day on the bump, running the fastball up to 79 mph with solid life at the top of the zone. Carpen worked very fastball heavy but flashed a couple changeups at 73 with fade to it.
Leo Demetriou
OF - 2029 - Chicago, IL
Had a solid showing throughout the event with the bat and on the mound, showing off good power to the pull side and through the middle. On the mound, Demetriou ran the fastball up to 78 with cut action at times.
Grant Liebing
SS - 2029 - Lemont, IL
A primary shortstop, Liebing worked out in the infield and had an appearance on the mound, where he posted an event-best 81 mph across the diamond. On the mound, he ran the fastball up to 76 mph and paired it with an 11-5 shaped breaker.
Clayton Beckner Jr.
RHP - 2029 - New Carlisle, IN
Had a good showing on the mound, running the fastball up to 77 with some good late run to the arm side. He also showed the ability to land the breaking ball with 11-5 shape in the mid 60s.
Jaxon Bien
LHP - 2029 - West Bloomfield, MI
Bien, a left handed-pitcher, provided an interesting look on the mound here with a 3-pitch mix and got the fastball up to 75 mph. He worked the changeup well and killed the spin on it, creating some solid fade to the arm side. He also flashed a 1-7 breaker with good depth and was able to land the pitch.
Max Skrtich
3B - 2029 - Morris, IL
Skrtich was able to give a solid look on the mound, working in the mid 70s from a sidearm slot. The fastball had tons of run to the arm side and he was able to command it well.
Easton Lane
SS - 2029 - Beecher, IL
Lane gave an interesting look on the mound, running the fastball up to 76 mph with good tail to it, while also mixed in both a changeup and breaking ball. The slider had good sweeping action while the changeup had good fade with the 3/4 arm slot.
Quinn White
SS - 2029 - Laporte, IN
White, a primary shortstop had an impressive showing at the plate and on the mound, with one of his hits being smoked into the pull side gap for a double. White also showed off a clean delivery with good command on the mound while running the fastball up to 76.
Bentley Kops
SS - 2029 - Twin Lake, MI
A primary shortstop, Kops was able to provide an interesting look on the mound in a quick inning. Kops ran the fastball up to 77 with some arm side run and projects to add velocity as he grows into his slender frame. Kops also paired the fastball with a slurvy slider with feel for the pitch.
