2028 Top Prospects
Oliver Higgins
LHP - 2028 - Waddell, AZ
Uncommitted
Higgins was a standout across the board. Strong defensive actions both in the OF and at 1B showing present fundamentals with his glove/feet and a quality accurate arm. At the plate, he impressed with a lofted LH stroke that caught consistent out front barrels that translated into the gameplay. He also jumped on the mound where he showed a fluid/loose operation from the left side where he ran his fastball up to 80 which he paired with a a sharp upper 60s breaker with above avg. spin.
Lincoln Badura
RHP - 2028 - Phoenix, AZ
Uncommitted
Badura flashed a ton of potential throughout the weekend whether it was defensively, on the mound or at the plate. Was quick/athletic to the ball in both the INF/OF and showed off some quality arm strength. At the plate, he got off aggressive hacks with a swing that is a tad long/uphill but that still found consistent barrels both in BP and during gameplay. Pitching wise, it’s a loose low-effort arm that was able to run his fastball into the low 80s while flashing solid secondary options.
2029 Top Prospects
Asher Williams
3B - 2029 - Saint George, UT
Williams was one of the stronger and more physical players of this 13u/14u group and he found himself near the top of several leaderboards whether that was INF/C velo, 60-yard dash, or exit velo. Showed quality defensive skill from behind the plate and on the dirt at SS. Offensively, it’s consistent damage intent to each swing where it’s above avg. all fields power for his level which he gets to with ease and balance.
Charles-Étienne Drewitt
LHP - 2029 - La Prairie, QC CAN
Drewitt immediately stands out with his physical upside, standing 6-foot-7, 225 pounds. His outlier size translated at the plate to some easy strength at impact where he lifted balls deep into the gaps both in BP and gameplay. He also looked the part on the mound where he showed an easy-effort loose operation from the left side where he ran his fastball into the low 80s with a slurvy breaker (~2200) that has some potential.
Michael Bergin
SS - 2029 - Las Vegas, NV
Bergin showed above avg. skill/athleticism in just about everything he did this past weekend. Clean defensive actions at SS with sure hands and an above avg. arm across for his level. At the plate, there’s some quality bat speed there which translated to some decent impact to the pullside. On the pitching side, he creates good pace and extension with his lower-half with a loose arm that got the fastball into the low 80s he paired with a decent low 60s 11-5 breaker.
Kiki Whitney
C - 2029 - Tucson, AZ
Whitney was one of the more well rounded performers this past weekend. Showed strong catch/throw ability behind the plate where he had the 2nd best pop time (2.09). In BP, he showed a swing where he throws a flatter barrel through the zone with some out front intent that translated into gameplay with a couple hits which included a loud pullside double. Was most impressive on the mound where he displayed a loose/quick arm that ran his fastball into the low 80s with some feel to land both a slider and curveball.
Hank Turner
SS - 2029 - Argyle, TX
Turner showed some projectable athleticism and some strong present skill as well. He ran the 4th best 60-yard dash with a 7.15 where that footspeed/quickness translated at SS where he showed he is a strong mover with quality glove fundamentals. At the plate, showed a developing swing that flashed some looseness/quickness to the hands that found some in-game barrels. On the mound, he was balanced and repeatable with his delivery where he showed an upper 70s fastball, a decent 11-5 breaker and fading CH.
Linus Sinclair
OF - 2029 - Los Angeles, CA
Sinclair was solid in many facets throughout the weekend. Noticeably physical and athletic with some present size. Quality mover in the OF showing clean glove actions and a decent arm that got off downhill accurate throws. Developing swing at the plate but flashed some quality bat speed and he found some opposite field knocks during gameplay.
Jacob Garrison
2B - 2029 - Tucson, AZ
Garrison had one of the better swings of the group that really stood out during BP, while showing decently well in the INF and on the mound. It’s an easy and quick turn of the bat that caught barrels consistently out front that produced several pullside LDs. Developing footwork/quickness defensively but he gets his body/glove in good positions to field it clean and got off accurate throws. On the mound, its a clean/balanced operation that allowed him to pound the zone with a mid 70s fastball.
Kade Wilkins
C - 2029 - Gilbert, AZ
Wilkins improved in many areas since our last look in January and definitely stood out at certain points. Defensively he showed improved arm strength behind the plate which helped him pop the third best time of the group (2.15). At the plate, he showed a simple and flatter stroke through the zone where he lived on the barrel a majority of his BP round and even found a couple of opposite field knocks in game. Also threw well on the mound, running it up into the mid 70s with his fastball that he pounded the strike zone with.
Parker Schuman
RHP - 2029 - Eugene, OR
Schuman had himself several strong moments throughout the weekend, most notably on the mound and at the plate. Showed a quality operation down the mound which works with balanced and repeatability. Pounded the zone at a 66% rate and ran his fastball into the mid 70s, T76. At the plate, it’s a rhythmic stroke that works level through the zone that flashed a bit of pull-side impact during BP. Swing also showed well in-game where he collected multiple knocks.
2030 Top Prospects
Jonah Perry
RHP - 2030 - Prescott Valley, AZ
Perry showed well in the OF, displaying fluid movements to the ball with accurate throws while also getting off quality swings during BP where he stayed through the middle of the field. However, he really stood out on the mound, running it up to 81 with the fastball from a slight crossfire/deceptive operation. He attacked the strike zone and mixed in a developing breaking ball and changeup.
Thomas “Davis” Sheen
SS - 2030 - Lubbock, TX
Sheen found himself near the top of a couple leaderboards despite being just a 2030. Ran the 2nd best 60-yd dash with a 7.06 and had the 3rd best INF velo. Fundamental and athletic actions at SS with ability to operate on the run. Offensively, it’s a lofted swing that looks to get under baseballs. Found a couple solid barrels during gameplay, his loudest being a triple over the CF’s head. Also ran it up into the upper 70s on the mound with some developing secondary stuff.
Jaymes Gonzales
SS - 2030 - Surprise, AZ
Gonzales had a solid showing defensively/offensively but it was very intriguing on the mound. The delivery was clean, balanced and repeatable with an arm that worked with looseness and quickness, allowing his fastball to get up into the mid 70s that had some natural running action to it.
Mj Emmons
SS - 2030 - San Tan Valley, AZ
Our scouting staff walked away very impressed with Emmons on both sides of the ball. Athletic and fundamental actions in the OF and at SS showing strong footwork, glove skill and an accurate arm. Made a terrific diving play out in CF. At the plate, it was one of the more quick and balanced swings of the group where he showed an ability to loft it well with backspin into the gaps. Had some of the louder in-game barrels of the weekend.
