McMahon put together a clean series of defensive work, showing off his sound footwork and accurate arm from behind the dish. The 5-foot-11 catcher recorded arm strength up to 70 mph with a pop-time of 2.04 sec. During batting practice, McMahon produced loud line drive impact with good carry to the middle of the field, and later posted an exit velocity of 83 mph.
