Walker Kane (2028 C, Lakeside, CA) Came in out of the pen for the Navy team.  Threw one quick inning without giving up a hit and struck out one.  He came in out of the pen to throw an inning.

Batting Practice Highlights

10/7/2023

Gavin Kelly:  Kelly hits from a wide base with quiet hands.  Generates solid bat speed, attacking balls out in front, consistently barreling balls to the pull side.

Tristan Wolfe:  One of the longer frames in the younger group, Wolfe uses  a rhythmic leg draw in to a kick to get the swing going.  Loads hands with the draw generating solid bat speed with a swing geared for line drives.

Nolan Mandell:  Mandell really got the hands threw the zone well.  Consistently barreled balls throughout the round.  Some complex moves prior launching the swing as he loads the hands and back side in sync with the negative move in the front side.

Daxton Hyde:  Very long frame for the class of 2028 infielder standing at 6’2”.  Well coordinated for the age and size.  Slightly open stance, gets things going with leg kick where he closes up the front side.  Showed most of his impact to the pull side, occasionally working the middle of the field.

Jacob Asuncion: Simple swing from the right side that saw the righty stick consistently get the barrel on the ball.  Worked the middle of the field and the pull side with line drives, occasionally lifting to the pull side.

Keith Clark:  One of the better overall rounds of the day from the lefty bat.  Wide base, sits in to the legs a bit with a quiet load that generates easy bat speed.  Regularly barreled balls, showing the ability to drive the ball with loft to the pull side.

Walker Kane:  Wide base with a quiet lower half, Kane gets things going with a slight rock back in to load and a short stride.  Showed the ability to stay short and get to balls that got a little bit in him.  Repeatedly lined balls through the box and to the pull side.

Emmet Arnott:   One of the more physical ’28’s in the group, hits from a wide base.  Sets the bat path with negative bat tip in load.  Gets to easy bat speed and gets the ball out front, often lining and lofting balls to the pull side.
