70-Gray vs 71-Purple Coach Pitch Game Highlights

12/31/2021

Armani Newton (2022 OF, Fort Pierce, FL) - had his large, athletic frame on display, consistently making loud contact and driving the ball to the outfield. Newton has plus power in his bat, with the ability to drive the ball hard to all parts of the field. Newton's most impressive at bat was a ball driven to the opposite field wall.

Colt Powledge (2022 SS, Alvin, TX) - really showed off his defensive skills, flying around the infield and making multiple flashy plays. He really projects as a plus infielder with a large frame and fantastic hands. He also added a line drive up the middle at the plate with a smooth, quiet approach.

Brennan Mercer (2022 SS, Bonaire, GA) -  showcased his advance feel for the barrel all day with 3 hits. Mercer also flew around the basepaths, taking extra bases when possible. Mercer is an athletic infielder that profiles as a solid bat in the lineup that can drive balls in any part of the zone.

Randy De Maio (2021 C, Orlando, FL) - picked up a few hard hits during the contest. He displayed a gap to gap approach, proving that he could hit the ball hard to each gap. He hit a line drive to left field for a single, and then found barrel on a high and outside pitch, taking it to right field for a single. He has a compact and sturdy frame with present strength, and his ability to find barrel to both sides of the field will translate well moving forward.

Christopher Barkasy (2022 SS, Wallingford, CT) - found multiple barrels throughout the day, showing a contact-based approach with present barrel control. He didn’t try to do to much and he consistently went with the pitch, hitting it where it was thrown. He also flashed good speed on the basepaths, providing a excellent top of the order profile.

69-Gold vs 72-Red Coach Pitch Game Highlights

12/31/2021

Kamren Clark (2022 C, Louisville, KY) - was hitting the ball hard early and often in this one. He displayed a short and direct swing path with quick hands and great barrel control. He crushed two doubles to left and center field, as he got the barrel out front and elevated the ball with authority. He also displayed some speed on the basepaths with the ability to put pressure on the defense.

Walker Harris (2022 SS, Milton, GA) - was flashing the leather in today’s game, as he made a handful of nice plays in the middle infield. While playing shortstop, he showed off his athleticism on a play up the middle, where he ranged past second base and made an accurate throw on the move to get the runner. He has smooth and confident actions in the infield with excellent feel for the glove. In addition to his defensive prowess, he picked up a hard hit single to centerfield on a low and outside pitch.

Isaiah Hernandez (2022 C, Chicago, IL) - showed off his gap-to-gap power in this one, collecting three hard-hit doubles in his five at bats. His first two at bats were deep flyballs to the wall in left field, while his final base knock was a sharply-hit double down the first base line. The left-handed hitter does a good job of creating separation within his swing, and he proved to have juice to all fields.

Tristan Calmes (2022 3B, Mahaai, CU) - had his hit tool on display all morning, notching 3 hits in his 4 at bats. He showed an advanced feel for the barrel and a smooth pull-side swing, consistently driving the ball to LF, including a double to the left field wall.
