4-Navy vs 5-Orange

Ashton Pope (2023, Dallas, NC) smoked another ball into left field, continuing to showcase juice to the pull side during the last time of the weekend. Pope uses his well-proportioned strength well as he continues to elevate the ball into the outfield. 

 

Andres Rivera (2022, Silver Spring, MD) elevated a line drive single into center fielder during his first at-bat. Staying through a fastball on the inner half, Rivera single highlighted his quick barrel and the bat speed he is able to generate. Flashing some ability to lift balls into the gap. 

 

Brennan Kiser (2025, Roxboro, NC) poked a single into left field flashing some quickness to his hands with a slightly elevated stroke. Creating a good amount of bat speed for a rising freshman, Kiser had put together quality at-bats all weekend while remaining aggressive at the plate. 

 

Justin Webb (2023, Greensboro, NC) showcased himself well on the mound as he came in to throw the last inning for the Orange team. Snatching an 85 mph while he worked in the low-80’s, Webb flashed advanced feel for his breaking ball, manipulating it for strikes. 


2-Green vs 5-Orange Game Highlights

8/22/2021

Aaron Kimbel (2022, Fuquay Varina, NC) led off the game with another loud barrel, smoking a double into the left-center field gap. Continuing to displaying juice to the gaps, Kimbel’s powerful lofted stroke covers the plate well, allowing himself to get his long levers extended through the baseball. 

 

Drew Beard (2024, Charlotte, NC) remained hot at the dish Sunday, picking right back up where he left off, collecting two more base hits. Beard’s simple and direct swing plane continues to play well in games as he consistently squares up the ball resulting in liners back up the middle. 

 

Tyler Hughesman (2024, Mooresville, NC) ripped a ball past the diving first baseman for a well-struck single to the pull side. Hitting from the left side during this at-bat, Hughesman has displayed the ability to put the barrel on the ball from both sides of the plate. 

 

Luke Knape (2023, Greensboro, NC) squared up a fastball in on his hands, lining it into the left-center gap, clearing the bases, as it would roll to the fence. Knape has continued to pepper the left side of the field with an approach to the pull side and quick hands that allow him to drop the bat head on the ball. 


2-Green vs 4-Navy Game Highlights

8/22/2021

Aaron Kimbel (2022, Fuquay Varina, NC) motored into third with triple to lead off the second inning. Shooting a hard line drive over the left fielders head, taking a fastball the other way. Kimbel uses his big, physical body well to create leverage, driving the ball to all fields with authority. 

 

Andres Rivera (2022, Silver Spring, MD) shot a groundball through the left side on the infield for a loud single as he led off the 3rd inning for the Navy squad. Rivera continues to punish balls, as he has consistently worked to the pull side throughout the showcase with present quickness to his hands and a compact stroke that packs a punch.

 

Anthony Alvarez (2024, Summerville, SC) stayed on a knee-high fastball, dropping his bat head on the ball as he shortened up and poked it into center field with two-strikes, bringing home Navy’s first run of the game. Alvarez continues to work the ball from pull side to the middle of the field with an elevated stroke that possesses a lot of power. 

 

Sean Aronson (2022, Virginia Beach, VA) cleared the bases with a two-run double in the left-center field gap. Aronson has impacted the baseball well this weekend and continues to show an innate ability to find the barrel, driving balls all over the field. Tossing two no-hit innings to end the game of the Navy squad, Aronson flashed three quality pitches that he was able to land for strikes often. Tallying four strikeouts, including punching out the side in the 4th, Aronson showed his ability to get outs, coming out of the ‘pen.

 

Gabe Wagoner (2022, Belews Creek, NC) worked a quick two innings of relief as he retired all 6 batters he faced. Punching out 5, while flashing some serious swing-and-miss stuff, Wagoner was virtually unhittable. A dynamic breaking ball that showed plus-depth, the rising senior was able to land it for strike sin various counts as he continued to work ahead in the count. 


1-Grey vs 3-Maroon Game Highlights

James “Sawyer” Sawyer (2025, Greenville, NC) roped a loud double into the left field corner in the 3rd inning. Continue to flash some two-way potential as he continues to grow; Sawyer’s compact frame continues a lot of natural strength that he translates well to several facets of the game. 

 

Justin Mabe (2025, Lexington, NC) pounded the zone during his 3 innings of work Sunday morning, working efficiently, only needing 34 pitches to get through his outing. Throwing at a clip of close to 70% strikes, Mabe commanded his two-pitch well, working both sides of the plate generating a lot of weak contact. The young right-hander worked his fastball up to 81 mph, holding in the upper-70’s-low-80’s. 

 

Myles Odom (2023, Pleasant Garden, NC) continues to barrel up balls during gameplay, lining a single back to up the middle. Showing off his athleticism, Odom went first-to-third on a single in the right center gap and made several plays in the field ranging to his glove side. 

 

Jacob Smith (2022, Chesapeake, VA) laced a ball over the second baseman’s head for a well-struck single. Smith gets in the box and looks to impact the baseball with a lofted left-handed stroke, not afraid to let it rip early in counts. 

 

Nolan Milanowski (2024, Waxhaw, NC) collected two knocks as he continues to show a nack for hitting the ball hard during gameplay. The lanky lefty gets his barrel on plane early and has continued to produce line drive to all fields, highlighted by a hard liner up the middle for a single during his second at-bat. Tossing an inning on the mound, Milanowski worked a clean 1-2-3 innings, showing a solid two-pitch mix with feel for a spinner. 


3-Maroon vs 5-Orange Game Highlights

8/21/2021

Benjamin Hale (2024, Cedar Bluff, VA) punched out 6 batters over his 3 innings of work. The physical right-hander pounded the zone, working his fastball on both sides of the plate. Using his long limbs to create downhill angle on his fastball it appears heavy, as it remains in the bottom half of the zone. Topping 84 while holding 80-83 for the entirety of his 3 innings, Hale generated a lot of swing and misses. Using his entire frame to drive down the mound, the Virginia native creates dome deception as he shortens the distance between he and the batter. 

 

Hudson Powell (2022, Kernersville, NC) hit a rope past the shortstop, finding the barreling during game play. Continuing to put together tough at-bats throughout the day, Powell had previously recorded some hard outs, finally breaking into the hit column early in the last game of the day. Later lacing a single into the right center field gap, Powell stayed on the ball well through extension, keeping his barrel in the zone as long as possible. 

 

Jaylend Clemmons (2022, Southport, NC) got everyone’s attention with an echoing double to the pull side. Clemmons generates loads of bat speed with tons of strength to his hands. An aggressive approach, the Southport native swings with a lot of intent to the pull side. 

 

Drew Beard (2024, Charlotte, NC) continues to barrel balls up during gameplay. Adding another hit to his showcase stat line, Beard smoked a swing down the third baseline bringing home a run. Showing flashes of advanced bat-to-balls skills with some twitch in his actions.

 

Myles Odom (2023, Pleasant Gardens, NC) wasted no time, lining the first pitch he saw back up the middle during his first at-bat of the Maroon-Orange game. Working with a quick, compact stroke, getting his barrel on plane early optimizing his plate coverage. 

 

Ethan Brittain (2025, Wake Forest, NC) showed the ability to drive the ball to all fields as he lined a single over the first baseman’s head. Letting the ball travel, Brittain has showcased advanced plate coverage and feel for the barrel for a rising freshman throughout the showcase. Later getting a great jump, the Wake Forest native swiped second, sliding in ahead of the throw. 


4-Navy vs 5-Orange Game Highlights

8/21/2021

Ashton Pope (2023, Dallas, NC) laced a single into center for one of the hardest balls of the day. Big, athletic build with well-proportioned strength throughout, Pope generates a lot of bat speed, getting the bat head out to the point contact consistently. Sending a ball off the pitchers foot in his second at-bat, Pope displayed a nack for barrel as he continues to hit the ball hard through the middle of the field.

 

Nathanial Tyree (2023, Madison Heights, VA) shot a single past the third baseman, bringing home, putting the Navy squad on the board first. Flashing some quickness to his hands with a compact stroke and impact to the pull side, Tyree continues to build off a solid round of BP from earlier in the day. 

 

Luke Knape (2023, Greensboro, NC) sent a ball back up the middle, dropping the bat head for a well-struck single. A compact stroke that works directly out to the point of contact, staying on the ball well through extension. 

 

Chase Byrd (2025, Newport, NC) sent a missile into center for his first hit of gameplay. Barreling the ball with deafening sound that echoed throughout the stadium, getting the barrel on plane early with a slightly elevated stroke.    

 

Benjamin Hale (2024, Cedar Bluff, VA) adjusted his hands, keeping them in for a fastball on the inner half, drilling an RBI-double down the left field line. Physically advanced for his age, Hale uses his long lever to elevate balls, generating natural lift with strength throughout his frame. 


3-Maroon vs 4-Navy Game Highlights

Will Sword (2022, Cary, NC) worked up to 86 mph during his outing on the mound, changing speeds with his fastball, adding and subtracting from it. The Princeton commit sprayed the zone, flashing his 12-6 breaker for strikes at times. Sword’s fastball should serious life through the zone, displaying natural cut and run as he was able to miss barrels, generating a lot of weak contact over his 3 innings of work. 

 

Sean Aronson (2022, Virginia Beach, VA) collected two knocks during Navy’s first game. Lining a single back up the middle in first at-bat, Aronson would add some insurance runs for the Navy squad in the bottom of the 4th with an RBI-single through the left side of the infield. Squaring up both balls, the Virginia Beach native’s quick compact stroke continues to play with great feel for the barrel. 

 

Will Papciak (2023, Greensboro, NC) worked with an athletic operation on the mound as he came in relief to toss 2 innings. Varying his tempo, Parciak worked 81-84 with loose arm action that projects well on the mound. Pairing his fastball with a tightly shaped slider, the Greensboro, N.C. native commanded a two-pitch mix well, filling the zone as he worked in all four quadrants. Showing he can handle the bat, following a solid round of BP earlier, Parciak singled in his first at-bat of game play action. 

 

Benjamin Mease (2023, Asheville, NC) got the start for the Maroon squad, punching out 5 as he tossed 3 innings. Working his fastball in the low-80’s, Mease is continuing to develop feel for his arsenal as he flashed S/M miss potential mixing speeds throughout his outing. 

 

Lucca Pascarella (2024, Fayetteville, NC) stroked a single into the right-center gap, dropping the bat head on the ball as he was able to get extended, moving a runner from first to third. Showing his athleticism a few pitches later by swiping second, Pascarella showed off several tools during game play.

1-Gray vs 2-Green Game Highlights

8/21/2021

Luke Bowman (2022, Siloam, NC) laced a double over the second baseman head. Trusting his hands and staying back on a slider, Bowman was able to get a solid piece on the ball as he showed advanced plate coverage. 

 

Tristian Roney (2022, Clayton, NC) ran his electric fastball up to 86 mph during his outing. An extra-large, physical presence on the mound, Roney did a nice job of using his entire frame to create downhill action on his fastball, keeping it down at the hitter’s knees. Generating a lot of swing and misses, Roney was effectively wild with his heater, as he worked it around the zone. 

 

Ryan Jagger Carone (2022, Seminole, FL) roped an RBI-triple over the right fielder’s head, hustling around the bases as it rolled to the fence. Ripping a fastball on the outer half the other way the Florida native flashed his ability to hit the ball to all fields for power. 

 

Cayden Suchy (2024, Sterling, VA) dropped a barrel on a 1-1 fastball and shot it into the right-center field gap for a two-run double. Suchy uses an elevated stroke that plays well through the middle of the field. While also tossing 3 scoreless innings on the bump, changing speeds with his fastball while also showing feel for a spinner, the young lefty from Virginia punched out 3 as he worked his fastball up to 81 mph. 

 

James “Sawyer” Sawyer (2025, Greenville, NC) tossed 2+ scoreless innings as he would punch out 4 batters, displaying advanced command of the zone throwing over 70% strikes. Showing a three-pitch mix that he was able to land for strikes, Sawyer mixed all three well, keeping hitters off balance, garnering weak contact throughout his outing. Up to 82 mph with his fastball, the rising freshman held in the low 80’s for the majority of his outing. 

 

Landon O’Dell (2023, Rougemont, NC) ran his fastball up to 84 mph during his 2+ innings of work. The young right-hander punched out 4 as he worked at a deliberate pace with an athletic operation. With ton of room to fill with some whip to his arm action, O’Dell can see the velocity tick up as he adds strength to his frame. At the plate, going 1-for-3 with an RBI-double down the left field line. Keeping his hands inside the ball, O’Dell turned on a fastball, displayed quickness to his hands getting the barrel out to the point of contact. 

 

Malik Wood (2023 OF, Charlotte, NC) did a nice job at the plate in this one, going 2-for-3 with a pair of line drive singles the other way.  He does a nice job letting the ball get deep into the hitting zone and driving the ball where it is pitched.  He has a balanced swing and good barrel control, allowing him to utilize the entire field.

Batting Practice Highlights

Pierce Mullen (2025, Charleston, SC) worked to the pull side well with some well-struck line drives. Using his long levers to elevate balls with a simple operation that he repeated well.

 

James “Sawyer” Sawyer (2025, Greenville, NC) displayed the ability to get the bat head out to the point of contact during his round, working the middle of the field while flashing some juice to the pull side.

 

Mason McDonald (2024, Morgantown, WV) worked the middle of the field often, showing high bat-to-ball skills with quickness to his hands. Finding consistent barrels during his round of BP.

 

Tanner Berry (2025, Wilmington, NC) sprayed the ball around the field during his round. A compact stroke, barreling up the ball often, Berry repeated his swing well with juice to the gaps.

 

Luke Bowman (2022, Siloam, NC) showed off some quick bat speed with well-struck line drives into the gaps. A downhill swing plane, getting the barrel out to the point of contact often with some present strength throughout his frame.

Luke Knape (2023, Greensboro, NC) showcased some serious juice to the pull side using an elevated stroke with present quickness to his hands.

 

John Lobs (2024, Winston-Salem, NC) sent some screamers showing some present juice to the gaps with an effortless stroke. Finding the barrel consistently throughout his round.

 

Hudson Powell (2022, Kernersville, NC) laced several line drives throughout the field. Using a lofted stroke, showing the ability to elevate the ball to the pull side.

 

Anthony Alvarez (2024, Summerville, SC) put together a consistent round, displaying an advanced feel for the barrel. Sending hard-hit line drive to the pull side; Alvarez flashed some power potential as he continues to mature physically.

 

Sean Aronson (2022, Virginia Beach, VA) worked the middle of the field well during his round of BP, hitting some well-struck back spun line drive to the power alleys. Quick, compact stroke that showed he could get the barrel out to the point of contact consistently.  

 

Allen Brown (2022, Smithfield, NC) was another switch hitter that showed consistency from both sides of the plate today. With present pull side power from both sides, Brown impressed as he found the barrel often generating some loud contact.

 

Will Papciak (2023, Greensboro, NC) unloaded on a handful of balls during his round, sending some loud line drives to the gaps. Showing the ability to elevate through the middle of the field, Papciak’s quick, elevated stroke is advanced for his age with present strength throughout.

 

Andres Rivera (2022, Silver Spring, MD) smoked line drives throughout the field, creating some loud contact that echoed throughout the ballpark. A quick, powerful stroke, Rivera has tons of present strength that continue to translate well in multiple facets of his game.
