The Elite Squad Prime defeated the Players Edge 18U 6-3 to pick up their first win of the tournament. South Florida commit, Robert Montes (2015, Coral Gables Senior HS, FL), led the way for the Elite offense going 2-4 with 2 doubles and 1 run scored. Vanderbilt commit, Julian Infante (2015, Westminster Christian HS, FL), added in a 1-2 day with 1 double and 3 RBI. Mike Spooner (2015, Boca Raton Community HS, FL) also showed well going 1-2 with 1 triple, 2 RBI, 1 stolen base and 1 walk. Leadoff man, and Florida commit, Daniel Reyes (2015, Mater Academy Charter HS, FL), went 2-3 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.
Andrew Cabezas (2015, Coral Gables Senior HS, FL), a Miami commit, earned the win tossing 3 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 4 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 4 batters. Cabezas featured impressive velocity on the mound as he threw his fastball between 84-89/91 mph and mixed in a 70-77 mph curveball.
For the Players Edge, Manny Rojas (2015, Zion Lutheran Christian HS, FL) went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored, while Colin Smith (2015, Park Vista Community HS, FL) went 1-3 with 1 RBI.
