Cullin Monette (2016, Milton, GA) and Ben Coker (2016, Dacula, GA) recorded two hits each for WBA. 

OF/RHP Grant Elgarten (2016, Oyster Bay, NY) started and pitched 3.0 innings for Next Level, striking out five. His fastball sat in the 78-82 mph range and his curve in the mid-60s.

The Staten Island Orioles Underclass Gray defeated the Suncoast Select Old Hickory 2017's 6-5 in their consolation game.  Anthony Maisano (2016, Tottenville HS, NY) led the way for the Orioles' offense going 2-3 with 1 double and 3 RBI.  Charlie Salvador (2016, Susan E Wagner HS, NY) added in a 1-2 day at the plate with 1 double, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Matt LoBello (2016, Tottenville HS, NY) also impressed going 2-3 with 2 runs scored. 

Vin Juliano (2016, Tottenville HS, NY) earned the win for the Orioles going 2 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits and no walks, while striking out 1 batter.  Juliano featured a 72-75/76 mph fastball and mixed in a 64-68 mph curveball. 

For Suncoast, Garrett Thompson (2017, Tampa Bay Technical HS, FL) went 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI, while Mike Thomas (2016, Ridgewood HS, FL) went 1-2 with 1 double and 1 run scored.

The Phenom National Team defeated the Nelson Baseball School 17U 8-3 in their consolation game.  Connor Cannon (2016, Vista Murrieta HS, CA) led the way for the Phenom offense going 3-4 with 2 doubles, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Hulyn Ille (2016, Newcastle HS, OK) added in a 1-3 day with 1 double and 2 RBI at the plate.  Nicholas Schmidt (2016, Alta Loma HS, CA) also impressed going 1-3 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.

Morgan McCloud (2017, Waxahachie HS, TX) started and earned the win for the Phenom going 3 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 2 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 1 batter.  McCloud featured a 78-81 mph fastball and mixed in a 71-72 mph slider. 

For the Nelson Baseball School, Alex Watkins (2016, The Walker HS, GA) went 2-3 and Ryan Barday (2016, North Paulding HS, GA) went 2-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI. 
 

Borchers hits, pitches Easton Rays to 7-3 win

Keyed by a five-run 3rd inning, GRB Easton Rays beat Houston Heat Tadlock 7-3 Sunday afternoon.

Ben Carew (2016, Appleton, WI), Taylor Borchers (2016, Madison, WI) and Jeff Steuck (2016, Madison, WI) recorded two hits each for the Rays. Carew and Borchers lead the team with two runs each, while Steuck drove in three. On the mound, the right-handed Borchers pitched 2.2 innings, working in the 80-85 mph range.

Jake Peacock (2016, Pasadena, TX) and Sean Bergeron (2016, Pasadena, TX) each recorded two hits for Houston.

Banditos win over Marlins

The Austin Banditos defeated the NJ Marlins Showcase 4-2 in their consolation game.  Ben Ostrominski (2016, Round Rock HS, TX) led the way for the Banditos' offense going 2-2 with 1 double, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Ricky Martinez (2016, Pflugerville HS, TX) contributed a 2-2 day at the plate with 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  Marcos Castillo (2017, Stony Point HS, TX) also showed well going 2-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored. 

Texas State commit, Ryland Cox (2016, Taylor HS, TX), earned the win for the Banditos going 3 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 4 batters.  Cox showed a solid arm action and got good life on his 83-89/90 mph fastball and mixed in a 71-75 mph curveball. 

For the Marlins, Ryan Adelman (2016, Millburn HS, NJ) went 1-2 with 1 RBI and Hayden Reyes (2016, Princeton HS, NJ) went 1-2 with 1 run scored. 

Johnny Baseball & Mississippi combine for 22 hits

Johnny Baseball pounded-out 11 hits in their 13-6 win over Team Mississippi Sunday afternoon.

Jared Burkert (2016, Poland, OH) led the offensive attack, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and four RBI. Teammates Maxx Harpalani (2017, Wexford, PA) and Cade Negley (2017, Butler, PA) recorded two hits each. Parker Shannon (2017, Stongsville, OH) went 1-for-1 with three walks and three runs scored, while Steve Kokoski (2017, Fredonia, PA) showed off his power and plate discipline by going 1-for-2 with two walks and a homer.

Team Mississippi also collected 11 hits, including two each from: Logan McGrew (2016, Sumrall, MS), Dylan Marsh (2016, Lake Comorant, MS) and Graham Core (2017, Birmingham, AL).

Canes hold off Burn rally to secure 6-5 win

Pro Player Canes scored three in the 5th and three in the 6th, then held off Florida Burn 2017 Pennant's 7th inning rally to win 6-5 Sunday afternoon. Max Neilson (2016, Cary, IL) went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Canes, and teammate Matt McCumber (2017, Cary, IL) went 1-for-3 with two RBI in the win.

Florida's  Jordan Butler (2017, Tampa, FL) led the Burn offense, going 3-for-3 with a run scored. Giovany Lorenzo (2017, Fort Myers, FL) and Cooper Swanson each had two hits. Butler displayed a fluid stroke and a short, compact swing with good bat speed. 

RHP Lyon Richardson (2018, Jensen Beach, FL) pitched 1.1 innings out of the Burn bullpen, firing strikes at 81-84 mph. He also flashed an upper-60s curve.


Gatorball edges ASBA

The Gatorball Baseball Academy defeated the ASBA Futures West 4-3 in their consolation game.  Chase Malloy (2018, Chiefland HS, FL) led the way for Gatorball going 1-3 with 2 RBI and Andrew MacNeil (2016, F.W. Bichholz HS, FL) went 2-3 with 1 triple and 1 stolen base.  Zachary Smallridge (2017, Forest HS, FL) contributed a 1-3 day with 1 double and 1 run scored.

Josh Harper (2016, St John Lutheran School Pk-12 HS, FL) started and earned the win for Gatorball throwing 4 innings allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 4 batters.  Harper featured a 77-80/81 mph fastball and mixed in a 59-63 mph curveball and a 70-72 mph changeup. 

For ASBA,  Reyce Curnane (2017, Downingtown West Campus HS, PA) went 2-3 with 1 double and Riley McGinley (2016, Owen J Roberts HS, PA) went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Mark Anderson (2016, Conestoga HS, PA) also impressed going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.

The Scorpions Orlando 2016 Purple defeated Team Indiana 8-0 in their consolation game.  Brock Howard (2016, Harmony HS, FL) led the way for the Scorpions' offense showing gap power and the ability to drive the ball with regular contact as he went 2-3 with 1 triple, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 2 stolen bases.  Nick Barber (2016, Apopka HS, FL) added in a 1-2 day with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Gabe Scavone (2016, Bishop Moore HS, FL) contributed a 1-2 performance with 2 RBI and Montes went1-2 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.

Ethan Koehler (2016, West Orange HS, FL) started and earned the win for the Scorpions going 5 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and no walks, while striking out 6 batters.  Koehler threw easy and showed a smooth, balanced delivery on the mound and featured a good 75-83/84 mph fastball and mixed in a 64-69 mph curveball. 

For Team Indiana, Tyson Scheuman (2017, Mccutcheon HS, IN) and Trevor Waite (2017, Penn HS, IN) each had 1 base hit.

Carmen Mlodzinski (2017, Hilton Head HS, SC) started and earned the win for the Chain going 2 innings allowing 1 run on 1 hit and 1 walk, while striking out 6 batters.  Mlodzinski featured an 83-87 mph fastball and mixed in a 68-69 mph curveball and a 73-75 mph changeup.

SCORE International 16u scored four runs in the bottom of the 6th to secure a 5-1 win in their consolation game vs. Longshots Baseball White Sunday afternoon. Cam Coakley (2017, Lutz, FL) and Patrick Morris (2017, Tampa, FL) recorded two hits each for SCORE. Morris also added two RBI.

On the mound, the left-handed Morris started and pitched 4.0 no-hit innings, striking out three. His fastball sat at 73-76 mph and he also flashed an upper-60s changeup. LHP Connor Price (2018, Tampa, FL) added 2.0 innings out of the bullpen, working in the 75-81 mph range.

Mike Peleaz's (2017, Tampa, FL) RBI double in the top of the 7th inning turned out to be the game-winner in Scorpions Tampa Underclass' 1-0 win over East Coast Baseball Sunday afternoon.

LHP Julian Bosnic (2018, Lutz, FL) and RHP Nick Cerelli-Tartaro (2016, Tampa, FL) combined to throw a no-hitter for Tampa. Bosnic struck out seven in his 5.0 no-hit innings. His fastball sat at 74-81 mph. He also offered an upper-60s curve. Cerelli-Tartaro fanned a pair in 2.0 innings, working in the 81-83 mph range with a low-70s bender.

USA holds off Scorpion rally to win 6-5

Scorpions Jacksonville Underclass scored four runs in the 7th but their rally came up short, as USA Elite Baseball 2016's National held on for the 6-5 win Sunday afternoon. Kenny McKeever (2016, Dillsburg, PA) went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored for USA. Teammates Connor Hood (2016, Shrewsbury, PA) and Alex Baumann (2016, New York, NY) recorded two-hit games. 

RHP Matt Brooks (2016, Abbottstown, PA) started and pitched 4.0 innings for USA, striking out seven and throwing 38 of 49 pitches for strikes (78 percent). He was around the plate with all his pitches, working fast and attacking hitters at 80-83 mph, peaking at 85. He also flashed a late-breaking curve in the upper-60s with good depth. Teammate RHP Wyatt Tyson (2016, Red Lion, PA) worked 2.0 scoreless innings in relief. He showed the ability to pitch inside effectively, working in the 83-85 mph range with sink. He also flashed a low-70s curve.

The Memphis Tigers defeated Team Elite 16's Louisville Slugger 7-6 in their consolation game.  LaDarius Williams (2016, Brighton HS, TN) led the way for the Tigers' offense going 2-3 with 1 RBI.  Barrett Taylor (2016, Bartlett HS, TN) added in a 1-4 day with 1 double and 2 RBI.  Jacob Nobles (2016, Bartlett HS, TN) and Jacob Sawyers (2016, Munford HS, TN) each had 1 double and 1 run scored, and 1 walk. 

Preston Parker (2016, Christian Brothers HS, TN) earned the win for the Tigers tossing 2 innings allowing 3 runs, 1 earned, on 4 hits and no walks, while striking out 1 batter.  Parker featured a 79-83 mph fastball and mixed in a 63-68 mph curveball on the mound.

Teammate Michael Espositio (2016, Chester, NJ) added to the eight-run outburst, going 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI.

LHP Brian Toscano (2016, Randolph, NJ) started and pitched 2.0 scoreless innings for Locked In. He showed a balanced, smooth delivery and effortless arm action, firing strikes at 72-76 mph. He also flashed a mid-60s curve and threw 20 of 28 pitches for strikes (71 percent).

Dominic Peroni (2016, Uniontown, PA) and Lane Palmer (2016, Zelienople, PA) recorded two hits each for Team All American in their 4-2 win over the Illinois Indians Sunday afternoon at Estero HS.

RHP Ethan Winesburgh (2016, Plum, PA) pitched all 7.0 innings for Team All American, striking out five. His fastball was up to 88 mph with a mid-70s curve.

LHP Scott Kutschke (2016, Morton Grove, IL) struck out seven in 5.2 innings for the Indians. The southpaw worked in the 74-79 mph range with a mid-70s curve.

High velo arms were on display as Marucci Elite 16s and SBA Canes played to a 1-1 tie Sunday afternoon. 

3B/RHP Javier Valdes (2016, Miami, FL) worked in the 84-86 mph range out of the bullpen for Marucci. Teammate RHP Alex Belch (2017, Rochester, MN) was in the 78-85 mpg range in his 1.0 inning of relief, striking out two.

LHP Jacob Wright (2016, Chester, NC) struck out four in 2.0 innings for the Canes. His fastball was in the 84-87 mph range and he also worked in a mid-70s curve. RHP Trent Alley (2016, Charlotte, NC) sat in the 83-86 mph range in his 1.0 inning of work.

Logan Miracle (2017, Southside HS, AL) started and earned the win for the Astros throwing 3 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Miracle showed outstanding arm speed and attacked hitters with an 80-85/86 mph fastball and mixed in a 70-75 mph curveball that showed good depth and a 74 mph changeup that flashed potential. 

For Tri-State, Liam Hibbits (2016, Xavier HS, NY) went 2-2. 

Kentucky Baseball Takes Down Nelson Baseball

The Kentucky Baseball Club Underclassmen defeated the Nelson Baseball School 16U 7-2 in seven innings.

Josh Flowers (2016, Lexington, KY) led the Kentucky Baseball Club with a double and single with two RBIs. CJ Bush (2016, Nicholasville, KY) roped knocked a two RBI single and later scored. Jacob Abbott (2016, Lexington, KY) added a RBI double and a run, and Ryan Layne (2016, Nicholasville, KY) connected with a double and single with two runs.

Mark Leonard (2016, Lexington, KY) pitched most of the game with five innings. He did not allow a run with five hits. He walked two and struck out seven on his 83 mph fastball. He flashes curveball potential with a good commanding change up. 

For Nelson Baseball, Brian DeCarlo (2017, Acworth, GA) knocked a double to lead his team. Jalyn Carter (2017, Dallas, GA) and Ty DeLancey (2017, Dallas, GA) each picked up the two RBIs with

Logan Miracle (2017, Southside, AL) pitched three innings without a run to score. He allowed two hits with two walks and four strikeouts. He ran the gun up to 86 mph. He has outstanding arm speed with the ability to pitch. He has projectable stuff.

TJ Arnao (2016, Levittown, PA) pitched most of the game with four innings. He allowed one unearned run with three hits. He walked one and struck out four on his 82 mph fastball.

For the Deep South, five players knocked a single each. Jared Perez (2017, Key West, FL) picked up the lone RBI without a hit.

The Virginia Cardinals defeated the Richmond Braves National 10-2 to win the 2014 WWBA Underclass World Championship.  Virginia commit, Cayman Richardson (2016, Hanover HS, VA), led the way for the Cardinals' offense going 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Henry Moore (2016, Atlee HS, VA) and Richmond commit, John Gregory (2016, Hanover HS, VA), each knocked in 2 runs for their offense.  Jacob Long (2016, Cosby HS, VA) also impressed going 1-3 with 1 RBI.

ODU commit, Vinnie Pasquantino (2016, James River HS, VA), started and earned the win for the Cardinals going 3 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and 1 walk.  Pasquantino featured a 75-78 mph fastball and mixed in a 70-73 mph changeup.  He also added in a 1-3 day at the plate with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.

High velo LHPs shine; Chain advances, 5-0

High velo arms were on display in Chain Black's 5-0 second round playoff win over the Evoshield Canes Sunday afternoon at Terry Park.  Andrew Ellison (2016, Veterans HS, GA) started and earned the win for the Chain Black tossing 4 1/3 shutout innings allowing 2 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 5 batters.  Ellison showed a solid arm action and a good follow through on the mound featuring an explosive 80-83/84 mph fastball and mixed in a good 63-67 mph curveball and a deceptive 72 mph changeup.  3B/RHP Alex Vanderstok (2016, Warner Robins, GA) struck out one in his scoreless inning of relief for Chain. He displayed outstanding arm speed and a smooth delivery, firing strikes in the 88-90 mph range.

LHP Tyler Blohm (2016, Millersville, MD) started and pitched 3.0 innings for Evoshield, striking out four. He displayed good follow through and extension, utilizing his sound mechanics to work in the 82-86 mph range. He also flashed a plus curve in the upper-60s and a deceptive changeup in the mid-70s. Teammate LHP Matthew Cronin (2016, Navarre, FL) fanned three in 2.0 innings out of the bullpen. He showed good hip rotation and a balanced delivery, working his plus fastball in the 82-85 mph range with a plus, late-breaking slider in the mid-70s.

LHP Robert Kwiatowski (2016, Dacula, GA) struck out two in 2.0 innings. He displayed pinpoint command and outstanding arm speed when firing his plus fastball at 85-89 mph. Kwiatowski also flashed a mid-70s slider with late break.

RHP Bailey Ishler (2016, State College, PA) struck out three in 2.0 innings for the Stars, attacking hitters with a smooth delivery at 81-85 mph. He also flashed a mid-60s curve. Teammate SS/RHP Peter Nielsen (2016, Reston, VA) made quick work of PRBAHS, needing just nine pitches to breeze through an inning. His fastball sat 83-85 mph with a mid-60s curve.

Project Baseball Select pounded-out 12 hits in their 11-4 win over SBO Florida Sunday afternoon at the Jet Blue Complex. 

Andrew Hanson (2017, Burnsville, MN) and Dawson Degnan (2017, Woodbury, MN) recorded three hits each for Project Baseball. Hanson also doubled and drove in a game-high four runs. David Maberry (2016, Shalimar, FL) went 1-for-3 with a triple, filling the box score with a walk, two runs and two RBI. Bryce Ball (2016, Mason City, IA) put up a similar line, going 1-for-2 with two walks, two runs and two RBI.

The Richmond Braves National defeated the East Cobb Astros 1-0 thanks to Evan Lowery (2016, Jamestown HS, VA) who went 2-3 with 1 double and a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 7th to win the game.  Connor Gillispie (2016, Miller HS, VA) also impressed going 2-2 at the plate.

Andre Lipcius (2016, Lafayette HS, VA) started and earned the win for the Braves tossing 7 shutout innings on the mound allowing just 4 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 7 batters.  He also went 1-3 at the plate with 1 run scored.  Lipcius changed speeds and worked fast as he featured an 80-86 mph fastball and mixed in a 68-72 mph curveball and a 73-76 mph changeup. 

For the Astros, Grogan took the tough-luck-loss going 6 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 5 hits and 1 walk.  Grogan featured a 77-81 mph fastball and mixed in a 74-75 mph changeup and a 72-74 mph slider. 

Sorokowski dominates as Cardinals advance

The Virginia Cardinals defeated the Texas Stix 3-0 to advance to the Semifinals.  Florida State commit, Justin Sorokowski (2016, Lee Davis HS, VA), started and dominated on the mound for the Cardinals tossing 7 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and no walks, while striking out 12 batters.  Sorokowski showed good command and was aggressive with his 82-84/85 mph fastball and mixed in a good 75-77 mph changeup and a 70-73 mph curveball. 

Steven Carpenter (2016, New Kent HS, VA) led the way for the Cardinals' offense using a short, compact swing to go 1-4 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Virginia commit, Cayman Richardson (2016, Hanover HS, VA), added in a 1-4 performance with 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.

Elite Squad 15u scored four in the top of the 7th, then survived Dirtbags 17's Camo's three-run rally in the bottom half to escape with a 5-3 win Saturday afternoon at the 5-Plex. 

Anthony Leary (2017, Davie, FL)  went 3-for04 with a double, an RBI and a run scored from the Elite leadoff spot. Teammate David Vazquez (2017, Pembroke Pines, FL) collected two hits and a stolen base. 

OF/LHP Ashton King (2016, Christiansburg, VA) worked in the 79-82 mph range, peaking at 84 in 0.2 innings of relief for the Dirtbags.

Lids Indiana Bulls scored one run in the bottom of the 5th to salvage a 3-3 tie with Team Elite 17's Prime Saturday afternoon at the Lee County Sports Complex.

RHP Nicholis Prather (2016, Zionsville, IN) struck out three in 3.0 innings for Indiana in a game that featured many high velo arms. His fastball sat in the 82-85 mph range.

For Team Elite, RHP Will Ethridge (2016, Lilburn, GA) fanned five in 3.0 no-hit innings, flashing a plus fastball at 84-88 mph with a mid-70s breaking pitch. RHP Andrew Schultz (2016, Alpharetta, GA) was up to 89 mph in his inning of relief.

9ers Shut Down Florida Burn

Th 9ers Baseball Club-16U defeated the Florida Burn 2016 Pennant 3-0 in seven innings.

For the 9ers, Johnny Zega (2016, Lincroft, NJ) led the team with a double and a single with one RBI. Doug Facendo (2016, Hazelnut, NJ) added a RBI single, and Evan Madigan (2016, Point Plesant, NJ) roped a single and scored twice.

Jack Ipsen (2016, Eatontown, NJ) led the pitching duties with six innings. He did not allow a run with just one hit. He walked two and a struck out three on his 82 mph fastball.

For the Burn, Scott Dubrule (2016, Nokomis, FL) and Nick Long (2016, Sarasota, FL) were the only players to get a single.

Long pitched the longest and struck out ten in his five innings of work. He allowed two runs and two hits without a walk. He ran the gun up to 89 mph. He has a good arm action that is quick.


Marucci Elite Outhits White Sox

The Marucci Elite defeated the Chicago White Sox ACE 6-2 in seven innings.

For Marucci, Brandon Fraley (2016, Middletown, DE) led the team with a pair of doubles and RBIs. Jake Zarrello (2016, Miami, FL) added two singles with a RBI, and Austin Shenton (2016, Bellingham, WA) roped a two RBI double and later scored. Cole Stobbe (2016, Omaha, NE) helped with a RBI single and a run.

Easton McGee (2016, Hopkinsville, KY) pitched most of the game with six innings. He allow an unearned run with three hits. He walked one and struck out two on his 90 mph fastball. 

For the White Sox, Jeremy Houston (2016, Dolton, IL) led the team with a double and a run scored. Austin Tittle (2016, Lemont, IL) scored the second run.


Moore Delivers Walk Off Single for Cardinals

The Virginia Cardinals defeated the Ohio Elite 4-3 in eight innings.

For the Cardinals, Henry Moore (2016, Mechanicsville, VA) roped the game winning RBI single in the eighth. Mitchell Carmody (2016, Midlothian, VA) helped with a big game going 2-3 with a RBI. John Gregory (2016, Mechanicsville, VA) and Jacob Long (2016, Moseley, VA) each connected with a single and later scored.

Gregory pitched the most effectively with 3.2 innings of work. He did not allow a run or walk. He allowed three hits and struck out three on his 86 mph fastball. He has a smooth and online delivery. He has a good arm action that was loose.

For the Elite, Zane Harris (2016, Mansfield, OH) connected with a big two RBI single in the game. Brandon Henson (2016, Reynoldsburg, OH) added a double and a single with a RBI.

For Baseball U CT, Jamie Scofield (2016, Darien, CT) scored the walk off run by getting on base with a single. Frank Vesuvio (2016, Armonk, NY) added a two RBI double game, and Rob Griswold (2016, Milford, CT) helped with a RBI single and later scored.

Teammate Frank Vesuvio (2016, Armonk, NY) also had a productive day at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and two RBI.

Miami holds on to down Mizuno, 6-4

Mizuno Houston Select rallied with a three-run 7th inning, but the Miami Suns held on to secure a 6-4 win Saturday afternoon at City of Palms Stadium. 

Michael Marin (2018, Miami Lakes, FL) and Michael Blanco (2016, Miami Lakes, FL) recorded two hits each for the Suns. Marin displayed good bat speed and power potential at the plate. Blanco recorded an out on the mound, working in the 75-80 mph range.

OF/RHP Chris Jefferson (2016, Pearland, TX) struck out six in 5.1 innings for Mizuno, firing strikes at 80-83 mph. Teammate SS/RHP  Josh Lamb (2017, Nederland, TX) worked at 80-84 mph, while striking out three in 1.2 innings of relief.

RHP Drew Young (2016, Centerton, AR) tossed a complete game shutout one-hitter in 5.0 innings for Rawlings Arkansas Prospects in their 8-0 win over SF Giants Scout Team 2018 Saturday afternoon. Young struck out seven, working in the 82-84 mph range with a mid-60s curve.

The Dirtbag's 17U got a standout game from pitcher Cole Lovin (2016 RHP, Orrum, NC) as they took a 2-1 win over the FTB Chandler to advance to the third round of the playoffs. Lovin threw a complete game from the mound for the Dirtbags, allowing seven hits and one unearned run while walking none and striking out six, logging a strike on 76 percent of his four-pitch rotation featuring a fastball averaging 83 mph and topping out at 84 mph. 

The Dirtbag offense struggled to get going at the start of the game, but got rolling in the bottom of the fifth to score both of their runs. Austin Beck (2017 OF, Clemmons, NC) sparked the Dirtbag's after knocking in half of his team's hits with a perfect 3-3 game at the plate. 

Scorpions Blank Lumber 3-0

The Scorpions 2016 Prime blanked the Baseball U Tucci Lumber 16U as they advanced to the third round of the playoffs with a 3-0 shutout win after scoring all three of their runs in the first inning. The Scorpions offense knocked in four hits from four different players and the defense limited the damage done by Lumber hitter Alex Kirilloff (2016 1B, New Kensington, PA). Kirilloff was the lone bright spot for the Lumber offense after he powered his way to a 2-3 game at the plate with both hits going for doubles. 

Mark Potter (2016 RHP, Melbourne, FL) took home the win for the Scorpions after tossing a complete game from the mound. Potter threw 86 pitches in his seven innings of work and allowed three hits and no runs while walking none and striking out five, logging a strike on 78 percent of his three-pitch rotation featuring a fastball averaging 79 mph and topping out at 81 mph. 

Canes Roll to 8-2 Win

The Evoshield Canes 2017 Prospects scored in bunches, putting up four runs in both the second and fifth to power past the Florida Pokers Underclass Carolina and take an 8-2 win. The Canes offense knocked in nine hits from seven different players with Jeremy Arocho (2017 SS, Glen Burnie, MD)leading the way offensively. Arocho finished the game 2-4 with two RBIs, two runs scored and a triple as Matthew Cooper (2017 C, Virginia Beach, VA) knocked his one hit for a two-run homer. 

Toma Shigaki-Than (2017 RHP, Oakton, VA) took home the win for the Canes after tossing five innings from the mound. Shigaki-Than threw 80 pitches and allowed two hits and no runs while walking two and striking out six with a fastball averaging 79 mph and topping out at 81 mph. 

Texas Stix Advance With 6-4 Win

The Texas Stix closed the game out strong, scoring two runs in both the bottom of the fifth and sixth as they survive a late push from the Upstate Mavericks to advance to the third round of the playoffs with a 6-4 win despite getting outhit and committing more fielding errors. The Stix offense knocked in six hits from four different players with Christian Julius (2016 RHP, Flower Mound, TX) leading the way offensively. Julius finished 2-3 at the plate while picking up a game-high three RBIs and a run scored thanks mostly to a two-run homer in the sixth.

Matthew Canterino (2016 RHP, Southlake, TX) took home the win for the Stix after starting the game out on the mound. Canterino threw 79 pitches in his five innings on the mound, allowing two hits and one earned run while walking three and striking out seven with a fastball averaging 83 mph and topping out at 87 mph. 

TGBA Advance with 5-4 Win

The TGBA Blue Borcherding and the Elite Squad 16U Prime battled fiercely for a spot in the third round of the playoffs, but when the dust settled in a back and forth game that featured three ties and four lead changes it was the TGBA that found themselves on top 5-4 despite logging only half the hits of their opponent. The Blue offense needed four hits from three played with Cory Campbell (2016 OF, Cumming, GA) and his perfect game at the plate. Campbell finished 2-2 at the plate with two runs scored and both of his hits going for doubles. 

Colby Tobin (2016 RHP, Alpharetta, GA) took home the win for the Borcherding bullpen after coming into the game as a relief pitcher and closing out the final inning and a third. Tobin allowed one hit and no runs while walking one and striking out one. 

Prospects Take Down Gamers 5-2

The Coastal Prospects Underclass jumped out to an early lead with a run in the bottom of the first inning and didn't' let go of the lead as they took a 5-2 win over the St. Louis Gamers 17U. The Prospects offense knocked in seven hits from nine different players with JD Norris (2016 2B, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL) having the best day at the plate. Norris finished 1-2 with a game-high two RBIs and crossed the plate to pick up a run scored. 

Luis Torres (2017 RHP, Jacksonville, FL) took home the win for the Prospects after tossing two and a third innings from the mound. Torres threw 31 pitches and allowed five hits and two runs, both earned, while walking none and striking out one with a fastball averaging 74 mph and topping out at 78 mph.

LHP Jack Stamler (2017, Greenville, SC) struck out 10 in 5.2 innings for Evoshield, allowing just two hits. He displayed good command of his pitches, firing strikes at 77-81 mph. He also flashed an upper-60s curve and low-70s changeup.

Diamond Jacks Torch Scorpions 10-1

The Diamond Jacks Super 17 outplayed the Scorpions Panhandle 2016 as they took a 10-1 win in five innings to even up their record at 2-2 and hand the Scorpions their worst loss of the tournament. The Jacks offense knocked in nine hits from six different players with Matt Toke (2016 1B, Three Bridges, NJ)and Erickson Nichols (2016 SS, Oradell, NJ) leading the way offensively. Both players logged twin 2-3 games at the plate with two RBIs, two runs scored and a double play defensively apiece with Nichols adding a double and a stolen base with Toke picking up a walk. 

Kellen Hardy (2016, Branchburg, NJ) took home the win for the Diamond Jacks after spending the full game on the rubber. Both team's put their best offensive foot forward, but it was the Virginia Cardinals who kept it clean on the defensive end as they powered into the quarterfinals with a 9-3 win over the previously undefeated Gallagher Team Mizuno. The Cardinals offense knocked in 11 hits from nine different players and was able to take advantage of three Gallagher fielding errors. Jacob Long sparked the Cardinals with a 2-3 game at the plate while picking up a run scored, a stolen base and a double play on the defensive end.

Wildcats Push Past Sand Sharks

The DTA Wildcats let the South Jersey Sand Sharks Showcase  jump on the board first with a run in the top of the first inning, but powered to their first win of the tournament with two runs in the fourth to take a 2-1 win. The Wildcats offense knocked in five hits from all different players and was able to take advantage of two fielding errors from the Sand Sharks defense while also limiting the Sharks offense to only two hits. 

Zach Colangelo (2016 OF, Wheaton, IL) took home the win for the Wildcats after spending the full game on the mound. RHP Nick Rinaldi (2016, Valrico, FL) struck out eight in 7.0 innings for Suncoast, working in the 79-81 mph range, peaking at 82. He also flashed an upper-60s curve. His counterpart, 1B/RHP Banks Northington (2016, Charlottesville, VA) fanned four in 6.0 innings for USA Elite.

Baseball U CT Holds On For 3-1 Win

The Baseball U CT got out to an early lead with two runs in the second inning as they fended off a late push from the Big League Baseball Academy Team Hayes to take a 3-1 win for their first win of the tournament in their final game. The CT offense knocked in six hits from all different players and was able to take advantage of two Big League fielding errors. Topher Brown (2016, Choate Rosemary Hall HS, CT) sparked the CT offense with a perfect game at the plate, finishing 1-1 with two walks, a stolen base and a run scored after knocking his hit for the game's only double. 

Brian Gaughan (2017, Walpole HS, MA) took home the win for the CT bullpen that saw four pitchers log time on the rubber. Gaughan started the game out on the mound and threw 33 pitches in three innings of work, allowing no hits, runs, or walks while striking out two with a fastball averaging 76 mph and topping out at 79 mph. 

Molle's 7th-inning HR leads Scorpions to 1-0 win

Jake Molle (2017, Debary, FL) homered in the top of the 7th inning to give Scorpions 2017s a 1-0 win over Baseball U Underclass Saturday morning at North Ft. Myers HS.

Flood City collects 12 hits in 11-2 win

Flood City Elite 2017 pounded-out 12 hits in their 11-2 win over Chain Baseball Atlanta Saturday morning at the Lee County Complex.

Four different players recorded multi-hit games for Flood City, including: Nick Holesa (2018, Huntington, PA), Lennox Pugh (2017, Duncansville, PA), Tyler Peterson (2017, Duncansville, PA) and Jake Cherry (2017, New Enterprise, PA). Holesa and Pugh each scored three times, and Peterson drove in four runs. 

The right-handed Peterson also pitched all 5.0 innings for Flood City, working in the 73-77 mph range with an overtop arm angle.

SBO Florida beat the East Cobb Astros 16u 3-1 Saturday morning at the Lee County Complex. RHP Johon W Duran (2016, Santo Domingo, DOM) struck out nine in 7.0 innings for SBO, allowing just five hits. He worked in the 81-84 mph range with a low-70s curve.

RHP Nick Laster (2016, Atlanta, GA) fanned a pair in 1.2 innings of relief, working in the 81-84 mph range, peaking at 85. He also worked in a low-70s curve.

9ers advance with 6-2 win

RHP Juliano Kovalchik (2016, New Hope, PA) pitched all 7.0 innings for 9ers Baseball Club 16u in their 6-2 win Sunday morning over ASBA Futures to advance to the second round. Kovalchik allowed just three hits and struck out six, displaying good command and an effortless arm action. His fastball sat in the 81-84 mph range with armside run. 

Jack DeSalvo (2017, Tenafly, NJ) and Evan Madigan (2016, Point Pleasant, NJ) collected extra-base hits for the 9ers. Madigan went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs and two RBI.

For ASBA, 3B/RHP Andrew Orzel (2016, Newark, NE) struck out six in 3.0 innings of work. His fastball sat at 74-81 mph, and his curve was in the upper-60s.

White Sox rally with 4-run 7th to advance

Chicago White Sox ACE scored four runs in the top of the 7th inning to complete the 8-6 comeback win over FTB Sarasota 16u Sunday morning and advance to the second round of the playoffs. A double off the bat of Christian Bullock (2016, Chicago, IL) and an RBI single by Zion Pettigrew (2017, Chicago, IL) keyed the late-inning rally.

Brandon Madero (2016, Orlando, FL) went 3-for-3 with a triple, a walk, a stolen base, an RBI and two runs from the leadoff spot in FTB's lineup.

SS/RHP Nico Piatigorski (2016, Orlando, FL) struck out three in 2.1 innings for FTB. His fastball sat in the 80-84 mph range. He also flashed a low-70s breaking pitch.

Top Tier Americans Power to 4-1 Win

The Top Tier Americans got on the scoreboard first and didn't look back as they took a 4-1 win over the Dallas Patriots 17U Red. The Top Tier offense needed only five hits from four different players to knock in their four runs with Mitch Owens (2016, Moline HS, IL) providing the offensive spark. Owens logged the game's only multi-hit stat line after going 2-3 with a run scored.

Hank Christie (2016, Oak Park & River Forest HS, IL) took home the win for the Top Tier bullpen after spending the full game on the mound, throwing 114 pitches in his seven innings of work and allowing four hits and one earned run while walking two and striking out nine. Christie showed control all around the plate with his pitches and a balanced, online delivery of his four-pitch rotation which featured good command of his change-up and a fastball averaging 81 mph and topping out at 85 mph. 

Bombers Take 5-1 Win

The Bronx Bombers 15U jumped on the scoreboard early with three runs in the second inning and two in the third as they rolled to a 5-1 win over the Ninth Inning Royals, limiting the Royals offense to only two hits. The Bombers' offense knocked in five hits from five different players with Justyn-Henrey Malloy (2018, St. Joseph Regional HS, NJ) leading the way. Malloy posted a 1-2 game at the plate with a game-high two RBIs and the game's only multi-base hit, a double. 

Malloy also took home the win for the Bombers after tossing the first five innings from the mound, throwing 61 pitches and allowing two hits and one earned run while walking five and striking out three with a fastball averaging 79 mph and topping out at 83 mph. 

US Elite Push Past Mustangs 3-0

The US Elite Baseball Prospects got a standout game from pitcher Joey Preciado (2017, Council Rock North HS, PA) as they pushed past the Florida Mustangs 3-0. Preciado threw 83 pitches in a complete game on the mound and allowed three hits and no runs or walks while striking out seven, logging a strike on 74 percent of his pitches and attacked hitters with a fastball averaging 77 mph and topping out at 80 mph. 

The Elite offense knocked in five hits from five different plays with Alexander Tappen (2017, Wissahickon HS, PA) leading the way. Tappen finished 1-2 at the plate while picking up a game-high two RBIs, a walk and a double.

RHP Connor Lunn (2016, Carlsbad, CA) pitched a complete game, two-hit shutout for Marucci Elite in their 8-0 win over Mizuno Houston Select Sunday morning to advance to the second round. Lunn struck out seven and walked none, working in the 81-83 mph range with a mid-60s curve.

Braves Advance with 5-1 Win

The Richmond Braves National jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the third inning and then iced the game with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to advance to the third round of the playoffs with a 5-1 win. The Braves offense knocked in seven hits from five different players with Justin Cook (2016, First Colonial HS, VA) and Matt Padeway (2016, Chantilly HS, VA) leading the way offensively. Both players put up 2-3 games at the plate with Cook logging an RBI, a double and a run scored with Padeway adding two RBIs and a double. 

Hunter Perdue (2017, Grassfield HS, VA) took home the win for the Braves offense after starting the game out on the mound throwing 79 pitches in his five innings of work and allowing three hits and no runs while walking one and striking out three. Perdue showed effortless arm action, control all around both sides of the plate, sound mechanics and a smooth delivery of a four-pitch rotation featuring a good frisbee slider and an explosive fastball averaging 86 mph and topping out at 89 mph. 

Surrell hits & pitches Ohio Elite to second round

Clayton Surrell (2016, Pickerington, OH) and Zane Harris (2016, Mansfield, OH) recorded two hits each for Ohio Elite in their 7-2 win over the Easton Rockets Sunday morning to advance to the second round of the playoffs. The right-handed Surrell also pitched 4.0 innings, striking out six. His fastball sat at 80-84 mph and he also flashed a low-70s curve with good depth.

RHP Mason Groves (2016, Powell, OH) worked 3.0 innings in relief for Ohio, showing a plus fastball in the 81-87 mph range, peaking at 88. He also flashed a low-80s slider.

RHP James Reynolds (2016, Jupiter, FL) struck out four in 3.1 innings for the Rockets. His arm worked well, offering a fastball at 81-86 mph, peaking at 87 from an overtop arm angle. He also flasheda breaking pitch in the low-70s.

Gallagher Team Mizuno edged North East Baseball 3-2 Sunday morning to advance to the second round of the playoffs. Christopher Rodriguez (2016, Manalapan, NJ) led the Mizuno offense, going 1-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored.

OF/RHP Stephen Hansen (2016, Manalapan, NJ) struck out two in an inning of relief for Mizuno and flashed a game-high velocity by working in the 76-83 mph range, peaking at 84. He also mixed in a low-70s curve and low-70s changeup. LHP Nicholas Auditore (2016, Hamilton, NJ) struck out five in 6.0 innings. His fastball sat at 74-78 mph and his curve worked in the low-70s.

Hardballers advance with 5-3 win

The Florida Hardballers beat Bubba Baseball 5-3 Sunday morning to advance to the second round of the playoffs.

RHP Jacinto Arredondo (2016, Center Hill, FL) struck out seven in 3.0 scoreless innings for the Hardballers. He controlled his pitches to both sides of the plate and displayed good mechanics while firing strikes at 80-84 mph. He also flashed a plus curve in the low-70s and a deceptive changeup in the mid-70s.

RHP Matt Mancino (2016, Larchmont, NY) fanned five in 3.0 no-hit innings for Bubba Baseball. Mancino commanded his pitches well and threw strikes while working in the 78-82 mph range. He also flashed a plus curve in the low-70s with good depth.

Team All American Shuts Out Wildcats 4-0

Team All American took a 4-0 shutout win over the DTA Wildcats after getting a standout game on the mound from Dominik Pruskowski (2016, Meadville Area HS, PA) to pick up their first win of the tournament. Pruskowski threw 88 pitches in his seven innings on the mound for the Team All American bullpen and allowed two hits and no runs while walking two and striking out eight, showing good command all around the plate with all his pitches, good extension and a smooth, online delivery of a four-pitch rotation featuring a fastball averaging 78 mph and topping out at 82 mph. 

Banditos Take 4-2 Win

The Houston Banditos were able to take a 4-2 win over the North East Baseball despite being outhit 5-7 and committing more fielding errors (3-2). The Banditos fell behind after North East scored a run in the bottom of the first inning, but jumped out into the lead with two runs in the second and fourth. John "JD" Noey (2016, Klein Oak HS, TX) sparked the Banditos offense with a 1-3 game at the plate with a game-high two RBIs, a run scored and a double. 

Cody Cummings (2016, Cypress Springs HS, TX) took home the win for the Banditos after starting the game out on the mound. Cummings threw 64 pitches in four innings of work while allowing five hits and one earned run while walking one and striking out six, logging a strike on 70 percent of his four-pitch rotation featuring a fastball averaging 84 mph and topping out at 88 mph. 

DiCesare powers Pokers to second round

Florida Pokers Underclass Carolina beat Diamond Skills Dodgers 16u 3-1 Sunday morning to advance to the second round of the playoffs. Jared DiCesare (2016, Chantilly, VA) led the Pokers' offense, going 1-for-3 with a home run. DiCesare displayed a fluid stoke and excellent bat speed.

LHP Bryce Cota (2016, Hampstead, NC) struck out nine in 7.0 innings for the Pokers. He displayed a smooth delivery and a quick arm, firing strikes at 80-82 mph with armside run. He also showed good feel for a late-breaking curve in the low-70s and a deceptive changeup in the low-70s. 

RHP Anders Assarsson (2016, Washington, DC) struck out five in 4.0 innings for the Dodgers. He worked in the 80-84 mph range with sink, peaking at 85. He also flashed a mid-60s curve and a low-70s changeup with sink.

Even though they were out hit, Staten Island Orioles Black slipped past St. Louis Gamers 16U. Thomas Ambrosino (2016, St Joseph, NY) singled in a run as well as Marc Bisogno (2016, Xavier, NY).  Danny Wynne (2016, St Joseph by the Sea, NY) threw seven solid innings. He gave up 10 hits but struck out four. 

Hunter Becker (2017, Chaminade, MO) led the Gamers with two hits including a double and an RBI.  Carter Truong (2017, Central, IL) pitched in with two singles while Harrison Burns (2016, Mary Institute, MO) had two hits.  Thatcher Burns (2017, Marqutte, MO) drove in a run and had two hits.

JP Walsh (2016, Spring Book Township, PA) scored the game's only run on a wild pitch in the 3rd inning, propelling Baseball U Tucci Lumber 16u to a 1-0 win over the Taconic Rangers and advance to the second round of the playoffs Sunday morning at the Jet Blue Complex.

LHP Eric Heatter (2017, Jamesburg, NJ) threw a complete game shutout for Baseball U, striking out seven. He commanded his pitches well, firing strikes at 78-83 mph with armside run. Heatter also flashed a mid-70s curve with good depth and 11/5 break, and a mid-70s changeup with good sink.

The Pony Express offense knocked in five hits with all of them coming from different players. Blake Chitwood (2016, Roncali HS, IN) led the stat book for the Pony Express with a 1-3 game at the plate, picking up an RBI and a run scored. 

Justin Reed (2016, Lawrence North HS, IN) took home the win for the Pony Express after tossing a complete game from the mound, throw 115 pitches in his seven innings of work on the mound and allowing four hits and two runs, one earned, while walking seven and striking out none. Reed, a University of Indiana commit, showed good command and sound mechanics, staying tall on the backside of a two-pitch rotation featuring a fastball averaging 83 mph and topping out at 85 mph.

In a high scoring game, Cangelosi White 2016/2017 came out on top of Flood City Elite 2017. Branden Comia (2018, Carl Sandburg, IL) led the attack with two triples and drove in four runs. JJ Zywiciel (2017, Plainfield East, IL) pitched in with two singles while Nathaniel Segura (2016, St. Patrick, IL) had two hits including a triple and two RBI's.  Nate Madej (2017, Lemont, IL) helped out with a single and a double.  Jackson singled twice and drove in a run.

Tyler Maxwell's (2016, Suwanee, GA) bat led TGBA Blue Borcherding in their 4-1 win Sunday morning over Diamond Jacks Super 16 to advance to the second round of the playoffs. Maxwell went 2-for-3 with a triple, a homer and two RBI. He displayed good bat speed and a power approach.

RHP Cole Varner (2016, Cumming, GA) struck out 11 in 6.2 no-hit innings for TGBA. Varner showed good command, working in the 77-81 mph range with a mid-70s curve. Teammate RHP Colby Tobin (2016, Alpharetta, GA) recorded the final out to clinch the no-hitter.

Brenden VanBelle (2016, Garnet Valley, PA) went 2 for 3 with a double.  Will Burgess (2017, Malvern Prep, PA) had two singles in the win and drove in a run. Chris Altopiedi (2016, Radnor, PA) threw two innings. He struck out four while allowing two hits.

The USA Elite Baseball 2016s Nationals needed to fend off a late push from the Scorpions Jacksonville Underclass to pick up their first win of the tournament 4-3. The Elite offense knocked in six hits from three different players with Connor Wilson (2016, Radnor HS, PA). Wilson had a perfect game at the plate, going 3-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base. 

Justin Ager (2016, Loudoun Valley HS, VA) took home the win for the Elite bullpen after starting out the game on the mound. East Cobb Astros 17U pitchers fanned 11 in their 4-3 win over Evoshield Canes 2017 Primes.  Cole Ganopulos (2016, Eagle's Landing, GA) started and lasted 1 2/3 innings. He struck out three but walked two. He threw his heater between 82-84 mph and touched 85.   Elliott Anderson (2016, Cartersville, GA) came in to finish the game.  He struck out eight and gave up two hits in 4 1/3 innings of work.  His fastball was between 85-89 mph.

Weston Bizzle (2017, A. Crawford Mosley, FL) only threw 1 /3 inning but his high 80's heater touched 91 mph. Brandon Knarr (2017, York Catholic, PA) threw 2 1/3 innings for the Canes. He struck out two and gave up a hit.  Jordon Adell (2017, Ballard, KY) came in next.  He struck out four but walked six in three innings.  His mid 80's heater touched 88 mph.

Jacob Garner (2016, Union Grove, GA) had two of those hits and drove in two runs.  Antonio Johnson (2016, Martin Luther King Jr, GA) singled twice while George Boyd (2016, Pike County, GA) had a single and a double.  Auliver Astin (2016, Newton, GA) plated three runs with a double and Keith Wilson (2016, Hurricane, GA) had two singles.  Connor Nalley (2016, Whitewater, GA) threw three innings. He struck out five and allowed three singles.

Chain Black slipped past Team Rawlings Citius 4-3.  Tyler Daughtry (2016, Veterans, GA) threw five innings and struck out six. He allowed four hits and one walk. His fastball was between 83-86 mph. Alex Vanderstock (2016, West Forsyth, GA) threw a perfect inning.  His high 80's heater reached 89 mph. Vanderstok led the offense with two singles.

Josh Reynolds (2016, Lakeland Senior, FL) threw 2 2/3 innings Citius. He struck out three and allowed a single.  His low 80's heater touched 84 mph. 

Elite Squad advances with 7-2 win

Elite Squad 16u Prime beat Fastball USA 7-2 Sunday afternoon at the Jet Blue Complex to advance to the second round of the playoffs. Mike Amditis (2016, Boca Raton, FL) and Mark Vientos (2017, Pembroke Pines, FL) led Elite with two hits each. Amditits had a game-high four RBI while showing good bat speed, patience in his approach and lift in his swing.

RHP Wade Walton (2016, Jensen Beach, FL) pitched an inning in relief for Elite, working in the 81-83 mph range. He was around the plate with all his pitches, including a low-70s curve.

Grant Bodison (2016, Mauldin, SC) led the Evoshield Canes to a 5-1 win over Florida Burn 2016 Navy. He went 2 for 3 with two RBI's.  Nick Neville () pitched in with a single and a double. Reid Schaller (2016, Lebanon Senior, IN) threw four innings. He struck out three and allowed two hits.  His fastball was in the mid 80's and touched 88 mph. Parker Fanning (2016, Mansfield, TX) came in and pitched the sixth and seventh. He gave up a hit but struck out two. He threw his fastball between 83-85 mph.

The Charlotte Megastars defeated the Chain Black 11-4 to advance past the 3rd round of the playoffs.  Nick Pasco (2016, Lake Norman HS, NC) led the way for the Megastars going 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 3 RBI.  Alex Alvarez (2016, Myers Park HS, NC) added in a 1-3 performance with 2 runs scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Luke Orr (2016, Hopewell HS, NC) also impressed going 1-2 with 2 runs scored and 1 walk.  

Carter Morgan (2016, Olympic-Math Engineer Tech HS, NC) started and earned the win for the Megastars going 5 innings allowing 4 runs, 3 earned, on 7 hits and 5 walks, while striking out 6 batters.  Morgan primarily threw an 80-83/84 mph fastball and mixed in a 66-70 mph curveball and a 77-79 mph changeup.

The Marucci Elite defeated the 9ers Baseball Club-16U 6-2 to advance to the 3rd round of the playoffs.  Washington commit, Austin Shenton (2016, Bellingham HS, WA), led the way for the Marucci offense going 3-3 with 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  LSU commit, Josh Smith (2016, Catholic HS, LA), added in a 1-2 performance with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Brock Anderson (2016, Sparkman HS, AL) also impressed going 1-3 with 1 triple and 1 run scored, while Brandon Fraley (2016, Caravel Academy HS, DE) went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI.

William Heflin (2016, Morristown West HS, TN) started and earned the win for Marucci going 7 innings allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and no walks, while striking out 9 batters.  Heflin showed a smooth delivery and a solid arm action on his explosive 81-85/86 mph fastball and mixed in a 68-72 mph curveball that showed good depth.

The Upstate Mavericks downed Iowa Navy Select 7-2 Sunday morning to advance to the second round of the playoffs. Multi-hit games were recorded by Upstate's Gabriel Holt (2017, Bonaire, GA), Chris Thompson (2016, Simpsonville, SC) and Luke Fetchko (2016, Greer, SC). 

Iowa's Kace Massner (2016, Burlington, IA) went 3-for-3 with two triples and two runs scored.

RHP Brody Gugat (2016, Sioux City, IA) struck out six in 3.1 innings. The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder displayed good command and was around the plate with all his pitching, including his 80-83 mph fastball that he kept down in the zone. All Stars rally to secure 6-3 win

The Louisiana All Stars won  6-3 over the South Florida Bandits Sunday morning at Dunbar HS. Louisiana's four-run 5th inning keyed the comeback win.

RHP Cole Tracey (2016, Monroe, LA) worked 2.0 innings from the All Stars bullpen, attacking hitters at 80-84 mph with a deceptive delivery. He also flashed a low-70s curve.

Rorey Combs (2016, Independence, MO) went 2-for-3 with a steal, an RBI and a run scored. The left-hander also pitched 4.0 innings, striking out a pair. Teammate Branson Audette (2016, Lafayette, LA) showed a fluid stroke and good extension, going 1-for-2 with a walk, a run and two RBI. 

SS/RHP Ivan U. Reyes Carrasquillo (2016, Yabucoa, PR) struck out two in an innings of relief for South Florida. He displayed a smooth delivery and good follow through, firing strikes at 77-81 mph with armside run. He also showed an upper-60s curve.

Top Tier's 3-run 6th completes 4-2 comeback win

The Top Tier Americans scored three runs in the bottom of the 6th to complete the 4-2 comeback win over Triton Rays 2016's and advance to the second round of the playoffs Sunday afternoon. Jack Coney (2016, Arlington Heights, IL) and Mitch Owens (2016, Moline, IL) each had RBI doubles in the 6th. Coney displayed a short, compact swing at the plate, and solid defensive tools with an accurate arm in the field. 

LHP Tyler Garrity (2016, Plainfield, IL) struck out seven in 4.2 innings for Top Tier, showing sound mechanics while pounding the zone at 79-81 mph. He also showed good command of his low-70s curve with 10/4 break and deceptive changeup in the low-70s. Teammate RHP Hank Christie (2016, Oak Park, IL) struck out the side in his inning of relief, working in the 83-85 mph range with a mid-70s breaking pitch.

Fox Semones (2016, Woodbridge, VA), Tanner Heltibridle (2016, Bristow, VA) and Alex Smith (2016, Stafford, VA) recorded multi-hit games for the Stars. Semones walked, stole two bases and scored three times. Heltibridle doubled, walked, scored and drove in a run. 

RHP Graham Ashcraft (2016, Brownsboro, AL) struck out eight in 5.0 innings for So Cal. His fastball sat in the 83-88 mph range, peaking at 90. He also flashed a good curve in the mid-70s.

Cam Burke led the way, going 1-3 with a single, one run scored, and two RBIs.  Sloan Parker (2016, River Ridge HS, GA) went 1-3 with a single and one run scored.  Will Pence (2016, New Lumpkin County HS, GA) also went 1-3, with a single, one run scored and one RBI.

Xzavion Curry (2016, Atlanta, GA) homered and drove in two runs for the East Cobb Astros 17u in their 5-0 win over the Diamond Jacks Super 17 Saturday afternoon at the Jet Blue Complex. Curry displayed good bat speed and a fluid stroke.

LHP Cameron Allison (2016, Marietta, GA) struck out five in 3.0 innings for the Astros. He displayed good command of a plus curve in the mid-70s, and fired strikes with his fastball at 82-86 mph, peaking at 87. Teammate LHP Taylor Gibson (2016, Summerdale, AL) fanned three in 2.0 innings of relief. He controlled his pitches well to both sides of the plate, working in the 78-83 mph with his fastball.

LHP Greg Gasparro (2016, Pennington, NJ) recorded four strikeouts in 4.1 innings for the Diamond Jacks. He showed good command of his secondary offerings, including a low-70s curve with good depth, and a good changeup in the mid-70s. His fastball sat at 81-85 mph.

Keyed by five-run 3rd and 5th innings, the Top Tier Americans beat SCORE International 16u 13-4 Saturday afternoon at the Jet Blue Complex.

Cooper Johnson (2016, Mundelein, IL) and Joe Santoro (2016, Mundelein, IL) led Top Tier's offensive attack. Johnson went 2-for-4 with three RBI, showing a sound hitting approach with some pop. Santoro went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBI, displaying a short, compact stroke and good bat speed, driving the ball with regular contact. Jordan Libman (2016, Glenview, IL) went 1-for-1, filling the box score with a stolen base, three walks, an RBI and three runs scored. 

3B/RHP Cal Coughlin (2016, Lake Forest, IL) struck out six in 5.0 innings for Top Tier. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder displayed good command and outstanding arm speed, firing strikes at 85-88 mph with heavy sink. He also flashed an upper-70s slider with good depth and late break, and maintained his arm speed when throwing a mid-70s straight changeup.

RHP CJ Van Eyk (2017, Lutz, FL) started and pitched 3.0 innings for SCORE, working in the 78-84 mph range, peaking at 86. He also showed a low-70s curve. 

Julius K's 7 as Stix advance

The Texas Stix defeated the Top Tier Americans 1-0 to advance past the 3rd round of the playoffs.  Christian Julius (2016, Liberty Christian HS, TX) started and earned the win for the Stix tossing 7 shutout innings allowing just 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 7 batters.  Julius threw a 78-82/83 mph fastball and mixed in a 65-70 mph curveball and a 73-75 mph slider.  

Bradley Gneiting (2016, Keller HS, TX) led the way for the Stix offense going 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Alexander Stiegler (2016, Trinity Christian Academy HS, TX) also impressed going 1-2 with 1 double and 1 RBI.  

For the Americans, Mitch Owens (2016, Moline HS, IL) took the tough-luck-loss going 6 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 2 hits and 1 walk, while recording 6 strikeouts.  Owens featured a 79-82/83 mph fastball and mixed in a 70-73 mph slider.

The USA Elite Scout Team grabbed the shutout victory, defeating the South Florida Bandits, 5-0.

Banks Northington (2016, Charlottesville HS, VA) went 1-2 in the game, with a single, one run and one RBI.  Anthony Rota (2017, Boyertown Area HS, PA) despite going hitless, he still contributed with two RBIs in the contest.  Jacob Rupp (2017, Central Cambria HS, PA) contributed with  a single on the day.  He also pitched five innings of work, giving up no runs, just two hits and struck out five.  He had a smooth, online delivery, and had a fastball that peaked at 74 mph.

For FTB, Britt Crawford (2017, Hagerty HS, FL) led the way, going 2-3 at the plate, with two singles.  Jorge Ramirez (2017, Osceola HS, FL) went 1-3 with a single and two RBIs.  Austin Davis (2017, Freedom HS, FL) also finished 1-3, with a single and one run scored.  Bailey Wendel (2017, Hagerty HS, FL) pitched 4.2 innings of work, giving up one earned run on five hits, and struck out four.  He had a fastball that peaked at 80 mph, and mixed in a handful of off-speed pitches.

Soto Hits Walks Off for Florida Legends

The Florida Legends defeated the Cangelosi Black 2017 1-0 in seven innings.

For the Legends Giovon Soto (2016, Miami, FL) walked off the game for his team with a RBI single. Jeter Downs added a double to help his team.

Christopher Gomez (2016, Miami, FL) pitched most of the game with five innings. He did not allow a run with just two hits to fall. He did not walk a batter and struck out eight on his 84 mph fastball. He throws strikes with a solid arm action. He has a late breaking curve with an aggressive fastball.

For Cangelosi, Jake Ridgway (2017, New Lenox, IL) and Dominic Connolly (2017, Lemont, IL) each led the team with a single.

Brent Lake (2017, Mokena, IL) was the most effective pitcher with two innings of work. He did not allow a run off just two hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out two on his 76 mph fastball.

The Tri-State Arsenal Showcase Underclass grabbed the 1-0 victory over On Deck O's Orange, thanks to a late run in the top of the seventh inning.

Jared Kacso (2016, Barnegat HS, NJ) led the way for the Arsenal offense, going 1-3 with a single and one run scored.  A.J. Dunham (2016, Moorestown Friends HS, NJ) also went 1-3 with a single as well.  Andrew Derubertis (2017, Bergen Catholic, NY) went 1-2 in the game, with a single on the day.

On the mound, five different pitchers combined to just give up five hits in the game.  Eric Rojas (2016, St. Francis Prep, NY) had a fastball that topped out at 82 mph, and mixed in a curveball for his off-speed.

The Florida Pokers Underclass Carolina defeated the Dugout Stars 9-1 in five innings.

For the Pokers, Roberto Reyes (2016, Pembroke Pines, FL) led the team with two singles with a RBI and two runs. Jared DiCesare (2016, Chantilly, VA) and Jorge Hernando (2016, West Palm Beach, FL) each connected with a two RBI single. Caleb Stafford (2016, Clermont, FL) added a RBI double.

Zach Shinsky (2016, Deltona, FL) went most of the game with three innings. He did not allow an earned run with three hits. He walked one and struck out four on his 79 mph fastball.

For the Stars, Nick O'Day (2018, Coatsville, PA) led the team with a RBI single. Dalton Heath (2016, Goodlettsville, TN) helped with a single and scored the only run.

Heath pitched the most effectively with 1.2 innings of work. He allowed on unearned run off two hits. He walked one and struck out three while touching 81 mph.

Elite Baseball Training-2016 grabbed the shutout win to advance, defeating Knights-Baseball National, 3-0.

John LeGare (2016, St. Charles North HS, IL) led the way, going 2-3 with a double, single, one run scored, and one RBI.  Garrett Action (2016, Lemont Twp, IL) also had a double, and finished 1-1 with two RBIs as well.  Leadoff hitter Tyler Fitzgerald (2016, Rochester HS, IL) a Louisville commit, went 2-4 with two singles.

On the mound, Drake Fellows (2016, Joliet Catholic Academy, IL) a Vanderbilt commit, pitched a complete game for Elite, giving up five hits, no runs, and recorded 12 strikeouts in the game.  He displayed an impressive fastball that averaged 89-90/94 mph, and mixed in some curveballs, changeups, and sliders for his off-speed pitches.

Dacoda Stone (2016, Germantown HS, TN) led the way for Vision, going 1-2 at the plate, with a single and two runs scored.  Dylan Gatlin (2017, Olive Branch HS, MS) went 1-3 with a single.  Jake Davidson (2016, Lewisburg HS, MS) and William Locke (2016, Christian Brothers HS, TN) each showed off their speed, with scoring two runs a piece in the game.

The Ohio Surge outlast the Stars Baseball 2016 Blue, 8-4, in the first round of the playoffs.  The Surge offense did not come alive until the top of the fourth inning, and went on to the victory.

Brent Todys (2016 ,Westerville-North HS, OH) led the way for the Surge offense, going 3-4 at the plate, with a double, two singles, one run scored and two RBIs.  Greg Brown (2016, Hillard Darby HS, OH) also had a double of his own in the game, and finished 2-3 on the day.  Joey Estepp (2016, Hillard Darby HS, OH) went 1-4 with a single, and two RBIs, and Wyatt Gresh (2016, Highland HS, OH) went 1-3 with a single and two RBIs as well in the game.

The South Charlotte Panthers 2016 grabbed the shutout victory, defeating Elite Squad 16U TPX, 3-0, in the first round of the playoffs.

Evan Odum (2016, Lumberton HS, NC) a UNC commit, pitched a complete game for the Panthers, giving up no runs, allowed just three hits, and struck out eight.  He showed a good, balance delivery with a downhill delivery, while utilizing a fastball that averaged 81-83/84 mph, and mixed in some curveballs and changeups for his off-speed pitches.

At the plate for the Panthers, Kobe Phillips (2016, Butler HS, NC) led the way, going 2-3 at the plate, with two doubles.  Andrew Robinson (2016, Eastern Guilford HS, NC) a Western Carolina commit, finished 2-2 in the game with two singles, and River Ryan (2016, North Mecklenburg HS, NC) went 2-3 with a double of his own, single, and one run scored.  Aaron Pilkington (2016, Ardrey Kell HS, NC) also had a double in the game, and finished 1-3 with a run scored.

For the Elite Squad, Jack Schmidt (2017, Cooper City HS, FL) provided a little life on the offensive end, going 1-3 in the game, with a double.

The Evoshield Canes 2017 Prime were able to hold off the Dirtbags 16's, 1-0, in the first round of the playoffs.

Leadoff hitter Ashton McGee (2017, Charles B. Aycock HS, NC) a UNC commit, led the way, going 1-3 at the plate, with a single and one run scored.  Will Sprinkle (2017, Reagan HS, NC) a Wake Forest commit, also went 1-3 with a single, and Seth Caddell (2017, Pinecrest HS, NC) a ECU commit, finished 1-2 with a single as well.

Sprinkle also pitched 5.1 innings of work, giving up no runs, four hits, and struck out four.  He was able to throw strikes well and be around the plate with all of his pitches, and displayed a fastball that averaged 80-82/83 mph, and mixed in a handful of off-speed pitches.

For the Dirtbags, Nick Cooper (2017, Weddington HS, NC) went 1-2 with a single, and Logan Crabtree (2017, Northwood HS, NC) went 1-3 with a single as well.

Team DeMarini GA 2017 defeated the Dallas Patriots 17U Navy 7-2 in their consolation game.  Blake Fraley (2016, Walton HS, GA) led the way for the DeMarini offense going2-2 with 2 doubles, 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 walk.  Jacob Greene (2016, Mount Pisgah Christian HS, GA) also impressed going 2-3 with 1 run scored, 3 RBI. 2 stolen bases and 1 walk.  Keegan Fairley (2016, Auburn HS, AL) contributed a 1-3 day at the plate with 2 runs scored.  

Duke commit, Graeme Stinson (2016, Norcross HS, GA), started and earned the win for DeMarini going 3 strong innings allowing just 1 unearned run on 1 hit and 1 walk, while striking out 6 batters.  Stinson showed impressive velocity on his 85-88/89 mph fastball and mixed in an 80-82 mph curveball.

Szczypinski, Dirtbags Shut-Out Stars 8-0

The Dirtbags 16's got a no-hitter from pitcher Patrick Szczypinski (2017, Northwood HS, NC) as they shutout the Caps Stars to take an 8-0 win in five innings. Szczypinski threw all five innings from the mound and allowed no walks while striking out four, logging a strike on 65 percent of his 49 pitches with a fastball averaging 74 mph and topping out at 80 mph. 

The Dirtbag offense knocked in nine hits from eight different players with Sean McLaughlin (2017, West Carteret HS, NC) leading the way with a perfect 2-2 game at the plate with two runs scored and a double play on defense. Szczypinski and Logan Crabtree (2017, Northwood HS, NC) both added in three RBIs apiece with Szczypinski logging a run scored, a double and a stolen base as Crabtree knocked his hit for a triple. 

Dodgers Blank Syracuse Sports Zone 8-0

The Diamond Skills Dodgers 16U got on the board first with a run in the first inning and closed the game out strong with three runs in the fourth and two apiece in the fifth and sixth to take an 8-0 shutout win over the Syracuse Sports Zone despite being outhit 9-10. Cam Remalia (2016, St. Johns College HS, MD) sparked the Dodgers with a 2-3 game at the plate while picking up two RBIs, a run scored, a triple, and a double. 

Jacob Pecilunas (2016, St. Johns College HS, MD) took home the win for the Dodgers after starting out the game on the mound and throwing 38 pitches in three innings of work. Pecilunas allowed six hits and no runs while walking none and striking out one, logging a strike on 71 percent of his pitches with a fastball averaging 78 mph and topping out at 79 mph. 

Third Inning Burst Propels Astros to Win

The East Cobb Astros and the Diamond Jacks Super 16 both put up two runs apiece in the first inning, but the Astros used a big third inning to take control of the game and take an 8-2 win. The Astros offense knocked in 12 hits from nine different players with Taylor Buice (2016, Lassiter HS, GA) leading the way. Buice powered his way to a 3-4 game at the plate with two runs scored. 

Patrick McNamara (2017, Blessed Trinity Catholic HS, GA) took home the win for the Astros after starting out the game on the mound and throwing 54 pitches in three innings of work. McNamara allowed four hits and two runs, both earned, while walking three and striking out four with a fastball averaging 74 mph and topping out at 78 mph. 

Knights Roll to 8-1 Win

The Knights Baseball-National jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the bottom of the first inning and cruised to an 8-1 win over the PRBAHS Red. The Knights offense was helped out with seven walks and two fielding errors from the Red defense and scored their eight runs with only four hits. Jackson Curb (2016, Battle Ground Academy, TN) turned in the best day at the plate for the Knights, going 1-2 with a game-high three runs scored, two stolen bases, and two walks. 

Tucker Pate (2016, Karns HS, TN) took home the win for the Knights after putting in two innings of work on the mound. Pate threw 32 pitches to start out the game and allowed no hits or runs while walking one and striking out three with a fastball averaging 82 mph and topping out at 89 mph. 

Rockets Blank Longshots 8-0

The Easton Rockets jumped out to an early lead with four runs in the first inning and iced the game with four in the fifth to blank the Longshots Baseball White and take a 8-0 win in five innings. The Rockets offense knocked in six hits from four different players and was able to take advantage of four fielding errors from the Longshot defense. Colton Rendon (2016, William T. Dwyer HS, FL) powered the Rockets' offense with a 2-3 game at the plate, two RBIs, a run scored and a double. 

Matt Ellmyer (2016, The Benjamin School, FL) took home the win for the Rockets after starting out the game on the mound. In a game dominated by pitching, the Texas Stix beat the Memphis Tigers 2-0 Saturday afternoon at the Jet Blue Complex.

RHP Alexander Stiegle (2016, Dallas, TX) struck out five in 6.0 innings for Texas, working in the 75-82 mph range, peaking at 84. Stiegle also flashed a low-70s curve and a low-70s changeup. Teammate RHP Ulysses Cantu (2016, Saginaw, TX) struck out the side in an inning of relief, flashing good command and firing strikes with his plus fastball at 88-90 mph from an overtop arm angle. He also dropped in a few mid-70s curves.

1B/LHP LaDarius Williams (2016, Atoka, TN) struck out six in 5.2 innings for Memphis. He worked in the 78-82 mph range with a low-70s curve and low-70s changeup. Keyed by a five-run 3rd inning, Caps Stars beat South Florida Bandits East 9-4 Saturday afternoon at the Jet Blue Complex.

Michael Serafin (2017, Newark, DE), Bobby Gyurindak (2016, Lincroft, NJ) and Nick Jodway (2017, Morganton, NC) recorded two hits each for the Stars. Jodway doubled twice and drove in a pair of runs, and teammate Jacob DiMuzio (2017, Twinsburg, OH) put up three RBI.
